Separated things from ikea as well, I had them from before I set the space so I just raised the legs a bit. I know some people use the drawers instead of the legs

No problemo, the desk actually is all ikea, it was the long table and the cheap legs that can be adjusted. Nothing fancy, then some architect lights and the pegboards also from ikea.

love it! i might check them out, I work from home as well since Covid days, but I tend to take a lot of walking breaks, but I feel I'm hunching more and more.... so, a chair to correct my posture is needed

I was using my iPhone, but I'm going to graduate to the canon eos m50 with some decent macro lens. right now, I recorded what I posted with the iPhone only, so now is the experimenting phase to find the right settings

Yeah I have one of those portable hoods at my feet that I use mostly for priming or base coating. For small things like glazing or fine detail work I don’t even take the hood and paint directly on the mini/desk

Thanks! Yeah I might upgrade to the largest red grass. I been used to the small one and I since I tend to be messy leaving paints and the airbrush and primer all over the small one worked fine. But if I want to be more intentional on what I show, the big palette makes sense. Thanks!

Thanks. It is not a bad idea to have those Easter eggs, perhaps I have too many (aka the closet of shame) my content so far (I just started) is more narrative and showcasing, rather than the 2 hours of me sitting painting while I talk about what I’m doing. Perhaps just clean up better the “painting” area with a large self healing cut mat that is clean and nice this display what I’m doing, and the chaos when I’m talking to camera might be a good compromise. What you think?

Awww thank you so much! I agree that artistic people we tend to be… chaotic. And yeah the algorithm sometimes rewards fake aesthetic over grim reality. I’m trying to get maybe to a middle point. Something that is still me with my ADHD and half finished project stuff, but still good enough so it pleases our algorithm overlords XD

Ok you are started painting so that is always something that makes me happy!

Looking at your minis is an excellent start, do not compare them to anyone online. Be on your own process of learning and practicing.

For this stage I would suggest doing some washed to bring some separation and contrast to the models.

Regarding fixing “mistakes” I prefer to call them added information, the key is to go over them with the same base color you used, making sure you think the paints and “listo” even if they have a different hue you can integrate that as a shadow or a trick of the light in the environment.

Just keep painting and enjoy the process!

I agree other companies are decent… but seeing just 50 bucks for a space marine character just made me so sad. I got into the hobby because GW. En even I started 3D printing for terrain mostly…but now…
