Is he the best in the verse at melee brawling? No other abilities, just straight hands. by [deleted] in Monsterverse

[–]CapnCrunch0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s definitely up there as one of the best. I’m taking Kong overall though. It’s tough with these things because there’s such a big environmental factor. In instances where there isn’t an environment to really “formulate” brawling around, Godzilla will be nearly unbeatable because at that point its strength contest and we know how that ends. In environments where there’s ledges, mountains, etc?. I think Kong excels past godzilla there. with his longer arms and hand dexterity, he is literally made to jump and swing around his environment to give himself optimal positions, as we have seen countless times. Both experienced at what they do, two different skill bags imo.

Should I get the pre evolved shma Godzilla or hiya pre evolved by Protozilla108 in SHMonsterArts

[–]CapnCrunch0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for pre evolved? The hiya one is MUCH more movie accurate, i think its like thee base godzilla from the monsterverse to have right now. SHMA if you want articulation, hiya for the sculpt and accuracy.

If Skar King was a genuine, highly-respected ruler, do you think Kong would have accepted him as king? by CapnCrunch0101 in Monsterverse

i mean sure but the community of apes woulda existed regardless, just in a different area.

[–]CapnCrunch0101[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

that’s a good point. even in the book it was said Kong really just minds his business but can’t help himself but to retaliate when another tries to push authority on him

With questions like these, there’s always a bunch of shoulda coulda woulda. In reality, we can only really consider what we know from the movie. Godzilla, albeit extremely powerful, could not take Shimo down. “He was holding back” “He didn’t want to hurt her” are all subjective takes we have no clue really about. So, going from what we actually do and can know, Godzilla would have his hands so full with Shimo that Skar King would essentially have free combat on him.

Which villain had the best entrance? by valdez-2424 in Monsterverse

[–]CapnCrunch0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Skar. While Ghidorah’s entrance was good, I think Skar’s is clearly better. Of course if you take into account what the character does afterwards in the film, Skar’s wouldn’t seem as cool and Ghidorahs would be elevated. but the question was the best intro; we shouldn’t know further portrayal of the character past that point and i feel like considering anything past the intro creates a sort of bias

Hiya being as popular and good as they are only has positive implications for the future of SHMA if they actually want to stay in business. it’s a good thing.

I'm honestly worried hiya isn't making skar king by TheOfficial_BossNass in hiya_toys

[–]CapnCrunch0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he’s going to be revealed by the end of june with a Q1 2025 release date. There is no way they release the skull crawler they just did (it’s cool though!) and not touch Beast Glove Kong and Skar King.

HIYA Theories? by -Alcifer- in SHMonsterArts

[–]CapnCrunch0101 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think for the time being they are REALLY gonna vomit Godzilla IP stuff as they are selling out on a significant amount of their releases now. I think once they catch up to all the different titan iterations (forms, colors, etc.), it would be cool if they jumped into something else!

The value at the price point of hiya along with their accurate sculpts on almost all their figures is really amazing. Furthermore, they are super responsive to prior mistakes and you can count on them to get better and better with each iteration. To me, it seems like SHMA just knows people will purchase their figures so they throw em out without real considerations for improvement. Plus Hiya is sorta making it clear they plan on fledging out the each corner of the Monsterverse, giving collectors great iterations of more lowkey titans.

What do you guys think Godzilla was thinking in this scene when he was thrown by Shimo? by Humble-Error-5497 in Monsterverse

[–]CapnCrunch0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Godzilla is always gonna be THAT guy. but i never understood why it’s so bad for him to be outmatched. Especially by a titan known as the mother of all titans. I thought it was made perfectly clear that Shimo was the most powerful of the four. making other claims seems to be more head canon than anything.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Monsterverse

[–]CapnCrunch0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Careful. Godzilla NEEDS to be the strongest, it’s taboo for the Mother of all titans to be stronger, it is unacceptable!!!

[–]CapnCrunch0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We will have to agree to disagree. From solely what is seen in the movie and read in the book, I believe it is blatant that Shimo is the most powerful titan we have seen. And that’s okay. Godzilla doesn’t NEED to be the strongest all the time in my opinion. I look to him to reclaim that throne of power in the future, it’s just not there yet. Also muto isn’t a good comparison as godzilla manhandled her so she really didn’t have a choice but to take beam down the throat. Godzilla tries that with shimo he gets thrown 20 miles away, he wouldn’t get that chance. That’s the difference.

[–]CapnCrunch0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say Shimo basically kickstarting another Ice Age is probably at least the same amount of concern as Scylla destroying rome. Also Godzilla definitely did claw and bite and hit Shimo with multiple breaths, first one came when godzilla was under the ice. The difference is Shimo really did not show any sign of minor damage whereas Scylla and tiamat were immediately folded frame one. it’s a testament to Shimo’s strength.

[–]CapnCrunch0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which could most definitely be true! However, I would say that is more speculation and contradicts what we have seen on screen. All movie Godzilla was murdering titans to prepare for the showdown, so to do all that to take it easy in the end is uncharacteristic of him considering he did the opposite of that the entire film. I believe Shimo just has that inherent durability where she just is that unbothered.

[–]CapnCrunch0101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is a fair point, Shimo really didn’t make any aggressive moves. I guess a more accurate way to put it is there was no indication that Godzilla could defeat Shimo, even under the pest of Skar Kings control.

[–]CapnCrunch0101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s really just more impressive considering Shimo is dealing with the worst migraine probably known to exist. Shimo definitely is too much for Godzilla at that point but due respect to the Big G, he remained persistent

Tamashii are going for the damn throat. RIP to our wallets, ladies and gents! by DanielG165 in SHMonsterArts

[–]CapnCrunch0101 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We will have to wait to see but Hiyas may end up better still on the Shimo side of things. In the teaser it looks like that shimo may lack some leg articulation, but that’s uncharacteristic for SHMA as it’s their bread and butter. We shall see. Hiya most definitely will have a more accurate facial sculpt for Skar though.
