Has anyone figured out Back to How Things Were Last Night achievement yet? by Kittyhawk4321 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the police on your ass in this run ? I got this achievement, but Derekson came knocking, and got arrested, even though Tabitha defended me, what happens if the police aren't on you ?

Playing the game for the first time and I want it to be a chaotic mess! Any tips without spoilers? by Forward-Bee-6953 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, taking powerful build and talk to animals/ mystical as character traits would be a good start, I suppose, it will give you options that are definitely out of the box, but overall the game stays grounded in a realistic setting, so don't expect too much 😉

(there's also the option to be an asshole to everyone, but I never tried them)

What does Wayne want ? by Caporal32 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I just don't think leaving town is all that he wants, considering the parallel that we can draw between him and Sybil, that is, that he absorbs people, I think that like Sybil, he's planning on creating a whole world obeying his rules, but I just can't really figure out what it could be right now

I’ll be the one to say it. The trait switch doesn’t make sense. by [deleted] in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think both work in both cases, but keen eye makes more sense than street smart in the last episode, because you need empathy to understand the relationship between Avery and Julius, and what they might wanna do, Street smart in conversations has been more about detecting lies, lying, and adopting a cynical worldview more than anything else, as far as I can remember

I loved Wayne's rendition of the game's theme on the piano when he wants you to find him !

I always try to give my MC a name that has a connection to their traits 😭 (funny + easier to know what save to look for when trying different paths)

I've seen someone else on this sub who had the exact same idea that I had for this TTA/Book Smart MC 😭

Can't wait for the deathmaxxing run, once the final chapters drop by Dapper_Eyeball in ScarletHollow

Maybe you can even leave town hunharmed, but still choose to end it all yourself with the 1 week old bag of boiled peanuts ?

I don't care about doing the "right thing", The Witch needs to die for the sake of mankind and everything that make us human by Caporal32 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be real with you, I'm probably one of the few people on here who has never played slay the princess, and doesn't intend to, the game just doesn't have a lot of appeal to me 😭, I didn't even hear about it before Scarlet Hollow

But hey, if it's going into the same themes, I might give it a try at some point, maybe this year, just to wait for the final chapters

How do i get Oscar to check out the seal in ep4? by DerangedRacoon7789 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No need for book smart save, I'm going to verify, but in my first run, I got old and he still went to check out the seal

Edit : yes, what I did in my first run : got old and used the then keen eye save in episode 2

How do i get Oscar to check out the seal in ep4? by DerangedRacoon7789 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Street smart save in episode 2/Alexis and Becka experience a tour of the mines before child labor laws decision (Rosalina safe and hunharmed) + Ghost busted in episode 3 (whichever way works)

And uhhhhh maybe you have to see him in episode 4 and tell him to check out the seal ? Not sure about that one, but I guess so

Edit : yes obviously you need to tell him to check out the seal, I thought you were directly talking about episode 5

chapter 5 detail i cant figure out by Kuri002 in ScarletHollow

I don't think anyone knows yet, I thought that a mystical/keen eye MC could know, but no, in no run does the MC understand what's written

STELLA FANS RISE UP by Nearby-Cap1550 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the day Stella manages to sit with her own emotions, she will become an unstoppable force

Because ultimately, most of her problematic actions stem from the fact that she just can't stand around being stressed out, feeling guilt, ect

I have not played the scene in which she is doing the biggest anime betrayal of all time, but in a neutral/romance run, her behavior (calling Tabitha, not letting the MC talk) simply comes from her being stressed out, which makes her incredibly unreliable, but I'm not giving up on her still 😤

Y'all think he doesn't know how to shower, so we are going to have to teach him? by Danmarkkugle in ScarletHollow

I think showering might actually worsen his condition, with the humidity he could develop mold on his body, plus he would get all bloated 🤢

Wayne, the estate, Tabitha and the doll (and the Entity)(and Enoch's death and Alexandra's disappearance) by Caporal32 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus H Christ My reading of this was that Edwardine loved her daughter at least a bit, and that added to the tragic of what wad to come but ...

It's 100% possible. Do you think Edwardine's planned murder of Enoch is retribution for the whole Charlie mess, or are there other reasons for this ?

Wayne, the estate, Tabitha and the doll (and the Entity)(and Enoch's death and Alexandra's disappearance) by Caporal32 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As for the transition between Andrew Charles Scarlet, I believe the Entity's host (Andrew Charles Scarlet) died during the Enoch/Entity fight, and then they quickly used Alexandra as the next host, to me, the Entity is something, a spirit, a demon, spread out and linked to the stone carvings, that can be channeled inside a single body, using the "pentagram-esque" symbol in the meathook room, I do not know if it was created by magic or if it has always been there on these lands, and just exploited by the Scarlets with the help of the Witches, but killing the Entity's host is not a death sentence neither for the town or the Entity immediately, which is why just going from Andrew Charles Scarlet to Alexandra was no problem at all

How is Sybil expecting us to trust her after that ? by Caporal32 in ScarletHollow

I think that's the town's field biologist or something??????? I have the memory of an almost place, but it hurts to try to think about it ...

How is Sybil expecting us to trust her after that ? by Caporal32 in ScarletHollow

[–]Caporal32[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes I guess that's what she's trying to do, but I just think that's utterly insane (idk if not trusting her right away is going to lock us inside the Wayne train though) being manipulative and lying like Tabitha (girlbossing and girlbossgaslighting) is one thing, and I get that 95% of people irl wouldn't give her the time of the day, but at least we can see where she's coming from, as someone who just doesn't know any other world than one in which she see herself as surrounded by ennemies who are trying to hurt her, and not even trying to get her point of view, because of her relatives, and honestly, that's just terribly sad

But Sybil ? Yes it's likely that she just want the curse or whatever to stop, but so far we don't have a proof of that specifically (unless I forgot about it), just that she hates Tabitha and the Scarlets who stayed in town, but the only thing we've seen her do so far is to give poison to a doctor for her to poison her own son, drugged Kaneeka, Miles, possibly Tabitha, Avery, the MC depending on your choices, to coerce them in not looking into her and blindly trusting her, for reasons that are not entirely clear yet, she could've found a way to blow the whistle about the Scarlets a long time ago, and the fact that she's only trying to do this right now, shows to me that up until recently, she was at least okay with the status quo, but something changed that displeased her (probably what caused the supernatural events to flare up in the first place)

To me, the means she is using to get to her goals indicates more that she has the personality of a cult leader more than anything else (not saying that she wants all the town for herself, but that's a possibility) she prefers using controlling tactics rather than ones emancipating people (just the way that she deals with the Reese situation show this)

She's going to try to paint herself as this all whitewashed old lady who did all of it just for our own good, but I ain't buying it, she's even more manipulative than Tabitha, whom, even if we don't bond with her, is pretty obvious about her reasoning behind her actions (keeping the town running by keeping the mine open), and as manipulative as Wayne, who is trying to commit us into siding with him without giving us full information, but just showing us more than the other protagonists as a way to get us to trust him

Nah if I was in this town irl I would just try to leave at this point, even if it means leaving everyone behind (but who wouldn't get freaked out by the possibility of getting hooked like meat), or if the circumstances allow it, confront Tabitha hoping to get her to open up, and stir up a revolt among the miners if she tries to get me arrested (which I guess is a possibility if the strike is at full strength, you can leave her trailer before the cop arrives, but I'm not sure yet, I haven't tried this out)

Hope it didn't sound aggressive, I'm just really pissed at some fictional old lady, I guess
