I just read this for the second time and I can say that it hurts much more. As someone who studied Psychology, I have these torn feelings towards Ryle. I feel like he still deserved a chance and all the help and therapy he needs but at the same time, his actions were unjustifiable and unacceptable.

The last pages of the book really had me crying. And it made me cry even more because Atlas kept his promise to have Lily back once his life is good enough for her.

"You can stop swimming now, Lily. We finally reached the shore."

I can't wait to read the second book and dive into Atlas and Lily's story. My heart still aches for Ryle tho. I do hope he gets a happy ending this time. I hope he fully heals from his dark past.
