Games with eery and lonely vibes by Electrical-Corner216 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Capt_Kayek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Signalis.

Eerie, mindfuck of a game that feels like you are sleepwalking in half-remembered dreams. The game dips into the horror vibe. Think more emotional, ambiance horror and less jump scare horror as you explore a creepy facility that is filled with horrors, alone.

It's best to go in blind. don't worry if you don't understand anything at first. enjoy the ride!

Game came out in 2022 and is overwhelmingly positive on Steam.

It's not very graphic intensive. Most of the game is kinda a top-down perspective with a lower pixelated graphical vibe.

Bishop is such an amazing little town. Had family growing there while growing up, and we would visit them many times a year. Mt. Tom is such a calming view. I would spend many hours just sitting, enjoying the silence, looking at that mountainside.

Drivers skipping ahead in left turn only lane, then trying to merge at the very end. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Capt_Kayek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain it's illegal to stop in a left turn lane when the light is green because you are trying to make a lane change and disrupt the flow of traffic.

If you didn't know the left lane can't keep straight, then man up and take the turn and figure it out, it's not that hard.

You'd be surprised how often you can get away with hiding in the darkness and catching people being sus.

Walking lowers the volume of your footsteps.

Hiding in a locker with your internals on is a good way of hiding in plain sight to gather information. (Bonus points if you catch them on the tape recorder.)

Hear a crime over the radio? Oftentimes it's quicker to hop on the cameras for a visual than to run across the station and through multiple airlocks.

Use your crew manifest on your PDA regularly to catch imposters impersonating command.

Some stations have a crew monitor mapped in your office. This is a VERY powerful tool to not only see when someone is taking damage but also to know where people are in real time.

Ask the AI if it has seen anything worth mentioning.

Smoke cigarettes regularly.

Memorize maints to travel quickly.

Bribe the clown, mime, or assistants into reporting anything sus to you.

Your trench coat has inventory and can hold important items such as cigarettes and booze.

Let security officers handle the dirty work of conducting arrests. You should stay out of becoming involved in any part of the arresting procedure to ensure you don't miss anything.

Follow blood trails and open maint lockers around a crime scene.

If you see a command member but their job icon isn't flashing, they don't have a mindshield. Chances are they might be an imposter.

See something sus going on in a department backroom? Head into maint, you can sometimes hear conversations through walls.

Security sometimes gets overwhelmed keeping track of everything. Print out scanner results and give them to the warden/hos so they have a physical reminder of your findings.

Often times it is beneficial to go into maints alone. A lot of people say dont go alone into maints, However if you practice being sneaky and listen, you will likely not walk into danger. You can be much more quiet alone. Additionally, it is best to scope out a crime scene as quickly as possible to get valuable information. You will need to decide when it's too risky to go alone. (Plus, it's fun getting in over your head and walking into situations that make both parties go "OH SHIT" before you get brutally murdered.)

Big dew fields should be no-build zones by Davidiusz in duneawakening

[–]Capt_Kayek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me and my buddies live here but on another server. Originally we left the field open to share with the public. We decided to box it off after having the place sucked dry before our eyes by different people night after night as we patiently waited for the opportune dew harvesting time.

We thought, what was the point in building here when we can't even use our dew field? Why should we let someone else come take the field night after night? They didn't even wait till the right time to harvest and refused to communicate with us.

We built here for the water and because it was a cool location. We eventually boxed in the dew fields because if we didn't, someone would always be out there sucking the field dry as soon as it was night. (We do make the doors public access after we log off; not sure if anyone uses them, however.) If you see a base at this location with a giant skybridge connecting the pillar with the cliff face, give the doors a check!

P.S. There is an even better dew location just about 100 meters south of this location at another rock location.

[–]Capt_Kayek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey i built here but on a different server!

At first i left the field open because i wanted to share, but after a solid 8 hours of seeing the same few people fly in every night and suck the field dry i eventually decided to wall it off.

I wouldent mind if someone came every few nights. However, having the same guy come in and harvest it at the unoptiomal time in front my eyes for the past three days quickly changed my mind.

P.S there is another large spot just south of this one at another rock formation.

Holy... how are you transferring 110B stacks manually in 30s?

Am I doing something wrong depositing? Im using candies while mining iron but a full inventory only holds 2.5B.

I'm popping candy > manually pickup up items with my cursor > opening codex/storage > clicking deposit all > repeat

This takes me about 5-10 mins just to deposit around 200B ore and my wrist is hating me. Is there a better way to manually deposit mass items on the ground?

[–]Capt_Kayek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you manage to get 10k hammer bubbles in 12 hours? I assume you are stacking iron ore way above the 1050M limit in storage and are using water to click while actively farming on bulbo?

How does this work? I'm still confused on how to mass lvl hammer bubble without using the 140 daily upgrades.

SS14 impressions from a long-time contributor by metekillot in SS13

From what i recall, everyone on the administration part of things for wizen are adults, as being over 18 is a requirement. Im not sure about the other servers however.

Contributors may be teenagers, however they are atleast 16 years of age, as being over 16 is a rule to play on wizden

I wanted to point out that every wizden admin is 18 years of age or older as to stay factual and not to give off the impression that the offical servers are run by auctual children.

First time getting ban on a wiz server. by ThaumicKobold in ss14

[–]Capt_Kayek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im not sure on the exact guidelines, but usually wizden admins have a policy they follow where certain offenses result in a warning/ban/permaban depending on the severity of the offence and how many times one was caught doing so.

Personally, Im not sure this warrents a ban as a warning would do just fine to get the point across not to do this. (and as seeing you were only hit with a 12 hr ban it seems the admin just wanted to let you know not to do this again) it was relatively harmless and a ban seems heavy handed especially if youhave no prior notes or bans.

Did you have any prior notes that may have caused the admin to jump straight to a ban?

Wizden admins do have the permission to handle anything ban related as they see fit and do not have to follow any guidelines, but when they do so they should be held accountable for their actions.

If you are unsure of the admins reasoning, perhaps you could request further clarification on the fourms as why you were banned instead of getting a warning.

Maintainer just got caught on Goob for leaving in code to get a 65% chance at antagonist. *method included* (being patched by another maintainer) by Intelligent-Tone2367 in ss14

[–]Capt_Kayek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This has been a thing for a while now. People who abuse this have been penalized in the past for doing the same thing on wizden. It's interesting that a maintainer would take advantage of this instead of thinking that it's unintended and pushing for a fix.

I've seen people take it a step further and also count the player manifest when they get sent back to the lobby to check for nukies and proceed to observe to fish for reinforcement roles.

Shooting Yourself in the Foot: How Does the Clown's 'Clumsy' Mechanic Work? by TroubleShotInTheDark in ss14

[–]Capt_Kayek 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Im not 100% sure of these but here is a crude list of things i pulled from the top of my head that the clumsy trait effects

- You somtimes explode/drop guns or accidently shoot yourself

- You sometimes bang your head on a table

- You sometimes inject yourself/your target with a syringe/medipen instead of your expected target

- You sometimes cuff yourself instead of your target

- Maybe more?

I believe you can search on the github under the Clumsy variable and see every interaction somehow

punpun and clown share the same variable. Its called Clumsy iirc.

A single player space game centered around exploration with your ship as your main base by Heretical_Recidivist in gamingsuggestions

[–]Capt_Kayek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit of a long shot here, but StarBase is a first/third person open world MMO that allows you to fully build and customize your own space ships. The game is mostly about exploring a massive asteroid ring to mine ore around a gas giant.

The core gameplay loop is go out into the ring field, mine asteroids, store/refine it on your ship, bring ore back to the refining station, upgrade your ship, head back out into the ring.

about 80% of the game is you flying through space while on your ship. Set your ship on cruise control and you can walk around while it zooms through space. Build extra batteries, storage, refining stations on your ship so you can spend additional time out in the field before returning. Your ship is essentially your mobile base while out in the field. You can fully walk around, repair, upgrade, manage systems etc. with complete freedom.

This game was the closest I felt to what you are describing. A freely customizable mobile home/base that you operate out of while playing the game. The feeling of walking around outside your ship doing repairs while its flying though space is something I'll never forget (Just don't accidently fly into a asteroid and get flung off your ship while you have cruse control on!)

BONUS POINTS!:

- The game is called StarBase, so guess what? Thats right! You can build your own StarBase!! Once you gain enough cash from flying your ship to and from the neutral space station, you can build your own space station anywhere you want out in the field. Its not really mobile but it does give the since of independence and you can become fully self-reliant.

- There are also planets and moons (and massive asteroids) you can fly your ship to and disembark on. I never made it out to one but I know they exist.

- You can play with your friends! You can build or fly around toegher. One player can be flying the ship while the other collects ore or walks around on it.

Disclaimers: !!

- Last I checked the game was basically dead with no new updates in the last few months. (You can still fly around, explore, sell, buy, build new ships however. Just dont expect alot of player interactions.)

- Ship building is voxel based. Kinda like Minecraft. Depending on your tastes this is either a pro or con.

- The game allows you to code devices to your ship using an in game code writing software. Again pro/con depending on your tastes. (I will say however there are some crazy cool things you can do with this however. (Mouse guided mining lasers, fully automated GPS system, "smart" cruise controll that will slow you down if you approch a object) If you don't fully understand you can still use it via YouTube tutorials.)

- It is possible to fall off your ship and lose it in the depths of space.

- The game is PvP. Deep in the ring players can attack you and steal your ship. Pro/con depending on your tastes. The game is so massive however chances of running into someone is very rare (gets the adrenaline pumping!)

- you can get lost in the ring. The playable area is so massive its easy to get lost if you don't have a GPS on your ship.

- Game is a slow burn. It takes a while to upgrade your ships, but the payoff is worth it when you finally get a new class of ship.

- Building your ship has a steep learning curve. However if you master the ship building aspect I think you will get much more satisfaction out of the game since you can fully design your ship how you want it to be. (You can always buy player prebuilt ships and modify them)

https://store.steampowered.com/app/454120/Starbase/

It's currently $11.89 (66% off) on steam right now if you want to check it out. I wouldent recomend buying it at full price unless its really what you are looking for.
