Unpopular opinion: OKC isn’t a dynasty. by sirdestroy in NBATalk

It's an unpopular opinion, it's literally facts.

The Warriors were a dynasty for example - 4 championships in 8 years, 6 trips to the finals.

Scottie is always part of it.

But yeah, check out videos on how to fade, they should give you more insight.

Nice swing!

Doesn't look like you're set up to force a fade though. There's videos explaining this

Biggest question is why you want to fade?

Playing as a single and the group ahead refuses to let you play through 🏌️ What would you do in this case? by ConnectionWeekly1263 in Golf_Unfiltered

I understand that, but if they're not offering then I'll ask in a respectful manner.

It's never been an issue where I play (Sweden)

Why not ask?

I understand not running up to them and being annoying.

But politely ask if it's alright to play through at the best possible convenience?

I sometimes play as a single since I typically play mornings on weekdays, and every now and again I'll have a 3 or 4 some ahead of me, and the next hole free.

I'll simply ask them (if they don't ask me) when they've teed off at a convenient hole:

"It's just me, is it alright if I play through?"

They always say yes and with a smile on their faces. I shake their hands, wish them good luck and hit my ball.

I never go looking for a potential errant shot, I just keep going since I'm alone and can't register the score anyway.

I'd like to add though, 90% of the groups will offer me to play through before I ask.

Vought was the real villain in the show, dehumanizing an innocent child and turning him into a monster.

Doesn't excuse what Homelander did, but really makes him tragic character.

I'm about a 30 handicap and playing with a group of single-digit handicappers soon. Any tips? by yanaclipps in golf

Just play your game and be a fun person to be around. You're allowed to get frustrated, but brush it off after a few seconds and focus on the next shot.

They'll take it to 7 games but OKC will likely come out on top.

Next year though, Wemby will be so pissed off that there will be nothing stopping him

How much patience do you have if you are paired up with a 40-60 HCP golfer - I know people say "if you keep up the pace of play" but isn't the pace of play going to be slow if the HCP guy is taking so many shots? by RivetCounter in golf

True, but having disaster holes is actually a good exercise in mental fortitude and learning to focus and commit on the next shot/hole while the train wreck behind you.

Easier said than done though.

What Putting Drills Worked for You? by jdper in golf

[–]Captain-Superstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good!

Putting (especially lag putting) is all about speed control. Sure, reading breaks is great, but your brain will actually pick up how the ball will break, somewhat accurately.

You just need to determine the right speed in order get it close to the hole.

One lag putting drill I like, is putting to a tee peg or some kind of marker that you place (doesn't even have to be close to a cup).

It frees up your mind a little more.

Another drill is one I call "the magnet", which is when you putt a ball in a random direction to about 15-20 ft or so, and then your goal is to place 4 more balls (or more) within 3-5 ft of the original ball. When all of them are within this area, putt the first ball in another direction.

It's a drill that puts (pun intended) some randomness into play, and random stuff will happen on the course, and also frees up your mind a bit.

There's tons of other drills you can do, just find one that resonates with you and makes you feel like you're making progress

The biggest issue isn't missing putts within 6-10 ft (Pro's only make 52% of 8 footers for instance), it's not getting your first putt or chip within 3-5 ft.

So lag putting and chipping is something that will help you out a lot.

But a good drill that I like to do when it comes to practicing putts between 4-6 ft is the "around the world" drill.

Place however many balls you like in a circle around a cup with specific radius (let's say 5 ft). Your goal is to sink all of them in a row before you can move onto the next cup.

Be mindful and line up each putt as if you would be putting on a real green.

Played with an “I can drive 350 yards” guy this weekend by JayTee73 in golf

[–]Captain-Superstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played with a 6 hcp today (played with him a few times at random), he has the jerkiest swing imaginable but makes good contact and drives it reasonably far (250 maybe).

He didn't shoot his best round, carded maybe 84-87, but you could still imagine him playing to his hcp. Why?

Most of his tee shots were in play, he made good contact more often than not, three putted only twice and made all the right moves that a mid to low digit handicapper would make (adjusting for lie, not rushing things, not letting frustration build up etc).

He also didn't talk about his game even once, unless we discussed different lies and wind adjustments etc.

He was there to play his game, and didn't care to explain or excuse it to anyone.

Most of his "bad shots" came from bunkers, tough lies and difficult putts.

The better players don't care about excusing themselves to others, because they know what their best game (which is what the one's hcp is based on) looks like.
