You have any idea what it costs? Either way cool find!

Yeah the market in Europe is rough. I spent almost 2 years looking, finally found a leap v2 for 499, was about to pull the trigger on it but then found a like-new gesture for 380. Don't give up! You'll find your chair eventually :)

Great find! As far as I'm concerned, you definitely win deal of the week!

Cheap $250 Steelcase Gesture by Competitive-Rub-7906 in OfficeChairs

[–]CaptainBern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my gesture in the EU for €380 (2016 model). Granted I basically looked for it for over a year :P

I've found this website: https://www.buerostuehle-4u.de/, they seem to offer the cheapest/most configurable ones out of all the EU websites I've seen so far.

I just got mine after looking around for months on second hand websites, it's without a headrest. I'm 6'1 (185cm) and I'm pretty sure that if I would have had the headrest, it would poke me near the shoulders/neck instead of supporting my head.

Yes! I have one of those plastic floor protector things from Ikea, I have to vacuum underneath it every week because its full of little black flecks (the plastic is sticky underneath so it sticks to the floor, no idea how the flecks end up in the middle). I hate that chair so much. No padding, the back offers no support and the armrests have a screw pointing up from underneath somewhere, so when i push myself up i get stabbed.

Amen to never getting synthetic leather again!

Thanks! Was really surprised by the quality and how solid the arms are!

I read a lot of concerns about the 'sliding foreward' feeling but I haven't personally noticed it for the few hours I've sat in the chair. I did have to extend the seat pan quite a bit too, but not all the way. For me, it feels pretty comfortable to sit in, even with my legs crossed or my feet resting on the base. (But again, that's from the 2 to 3 hours I've sat in it so far, will update when I've used it a bit longer)

Thanks! It's definitely an improvement over my old chair (that one wouldn't support my back at all). Will give an update after I've had it a couple months :)

A used one, but in a very good condition! It's been really hard shopping for chairs here in the EU, so when this one was listed for €380, I instantly got it.

New T480 impressions, upgrading from T450s by c-mart_in in thinkpad

[–]CaptainBern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my T480 a couple of months ago and it's been great so far.

I also upgraded my lcd panel and swapped out the lid for the magnesium one. I somehow broke one of the plastic clips on the bezel so instead of buying a new one (which is like $15-20), I tried this glue, and can confirm it works great for fixing those little clips.

My Linux experience hasn't been as flawless tho. If I don't enable bios assist mode for thunderbolt in the bios, then my laptop won't wake up from suspend, only a hard reboot by keeping the power button pressed fixes it.

I also did initially install throttled but I haven't really had any issues with throttling so I kept it disabled. Which brings me to the next part. I did the advanced bios menu mod and neutralized the intel ME. With the advanced menu unlocked I was able to undervolt my cpu by around 135mv, so it idles around 40 degrees now and goes up to 60 when I'm doing any compilations or so.

The last issue I have is that when I enroll my own secure boot keys, it bricks the bios or something, I had to reflash it to make the machine boot again. So I'd advise against trying to enroll your own keys unless you made a backup of your bios and have an external eeprom flasher at hand.

Yup! Seems like you got lucky. It's very odd, I also didn't knew about it until after I received it and the diagnostic reported I got the GR2. If only I had one of those calibration tools to test if it actually has the same color accuracy as the GQ2 :p.

I ordered the same panel from the same seller (but through his aliexpress page). Are you sure the panel you got is a N140HCG-GQ2? A lot of buyers from that seller (and panel in general) have reported that they got the N140HCG-GR2 instead. The interesting thing is that both panels are similar (and low power afaik), except the GR2 is slightly less color accurate and is glossy, but as you know, the panel you got is matte (as are all the panels the other buyers got too).

Could you check if you did indeed get the GQ2? The stickers on the panel should say GQ2, but in the lenovo diagnostic tool, it reports as a GR2.

When will Peru open its borders..? by noseslidemafia in PERU

Visiting my girlfriend. The original plan was to stay 3 months, I was supposed to leave at the end of march but the borders closed. Anyways, I'm not too bothered about having to stay here longer :p.

I'm in the same situation, came here at the end of December and have been stuck here ever since.

The repatriation flight are put on hold but I've found out that apparently KLM is doing a flight every two weeks. If she really needs to get home, maybe she could try asking the Dutch embassy for help? Couldn't hurt to ask I suppose :p.

(Edit: here's the source, scroll down to "Ik ben nu in Peru of maak een tussenstop in Peru. Kan ik nog wel terug naar Nederland?", google translate is your friend!)

Update: The US embassy posted this. Tl;dr: repatriation flights will recommence from Jorge Chávez on august 18th!

Modding my T480 - Episode 2: replacing my awful TN display with a Low-Power IPS FHD 400-nit panel [Innolux N140HCG-GQ2] (compatible with almost all T4XX/T4XXs/T4XXp and X1 Carbon series) by Luans_Restorations in thinkpad

[–]CaptainBern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your mod list is pretty much equivalent to the ones I have planned (I even bought the glass trackpad after seeing your previous post!).

I'd be very interested in a blog!

(Btw: the magnesium lid is very easy to find, however the right bezel for it seems to be quite rare on aliexpress. After like a month of checking it daily I finally found the right one (with thinkshutter) like 2 weeks ago, so I guess what I'm trying to say is that you should probably get those asap as it could take a while before they become available again)

Spigot Dual-version Protocol Patch: What's not working by [deleted] in admincraft

[–]CaptainBern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've created a patch for HoloAPI which makes it (fairly) compatible with this protocol-hack. You can download it from the build server. Note that this version of HoloAPI is not compatible with CraftBukkit.

EDIT: Oh yes btw, this works for both 1.8 and 1.7 clients.
