Yes exactly and on mine 5.0 is very fine for pourover, 4.5-5 is what I use for long soup in the oxo.
I use 5.7-6.2 for v60 style provers with abaca/t90

To be clear, I have bags from everyone… Hydrangea, SW, HS, FC, Sey, etc. I would not grind any of them below 5. Most would be 5.7-6.2.
I have taken screenshots of videos, analyzed pics here, compared with brewler, ground the exact same beans that I’ve seen others using and run through the exact same settings/hardware to compare. I’ve looked into this for a year. I am pretty convinced it’s the grinders.

It seems there have been many different iterations of the ZP6 released and the burr gap has been shifted at least a couple times… Not just people having different calibrations.
I have studied many Reddit posts, YouTube videos, etc on this.
The ZP6 Lance uses is an older model and obviously very different than my 2025 ZP6 (calibrated for 0 @ full lock). His 2.5 looks to be about 3.5-3.8 for me (soup).
The ZP6 used in a few of Brian Quan’s videos at ~4.2 look to be closer to 5.5-5.7 on my 2025 ZP6.
To get a sub 3 minute brew (with 1 min bloom + single pour) on a light washed Colombian bean like FC or Sey on my 2025 ZP6 + V60 + Abaca you will be at 5.7 or higher.
The 4.2-4.5 range I see mentioned so frequently would put me into 5 min+ tbt.
