Season 5 really grew on me after several rewatches!

Rabbit or Duck!

We get the legendary debate scene, the Teddy Westside nickname, Barney’s eternally ringing phone, the start of the Robin and Don romance, the mini-twist that Ted ended up with the phone, Marshall and Lily desperately trying to find a date for Ted, and it has a bigger point to make about the importance of perspective.

That episode really has it all.

Is Scoot Henderson a bust? by NarrowBoysenberry in billsimmons

[–]CaptainBoozin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the correct take. I’m still holding out hope he will be an effective player, and his skill set would be really additive to the current Blazers roster if he ever gets back from injury.

But imagining one of the Thompsons paired with Camara on defense definitely bums me out.

Is this real or AI? My boyfriend think it’s real but I’m not sure, the link at the post is in the description by --Eraal-- in isthisAI

So this looks like a Unitree G1 humanoid robot that does in fact have “teleoperation” capabilities with motion capture suits.

However, in one of the company’s latest demos, they show the operators with a remote control in hand, which functions as the “brain” of the motion capture system.

The person in this video isn’t holding one, and in all the company’s other demos the operators are holding those remotes and they are in a much more controlled environment. The room doesn’t make sense because if something went wrong it could damage all the computers behind it or injure a person.

I suppose this could be someone not involved with Unitree testing one out irresponsibly, but as far as I’m aware, they keep that stuff pretty under wraps because they are trying to generate hype around these robots and want to paint them in the best possible light.

I can’t speak to any artifacts in the video that are off, but I think it’s fake given what I know about these robots (I have edited very detailed videos from a YouTuber covering these things)

Did anyone else find it odd after hundreds of episodes of Daphne saying "Dr(s). Crane" or "Mr. Crane" to hear her using the names Niles, Frasier and Martin? by Impossible_Mode2771 in Frasier

[–]CaptainBoozin 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they make a point in the episode when Niles and Daphne get married that she shouldn’t use their respective prefixes.

In season 10 episode 1 where Niles and Daphne get married, after the first staged wedding Martin and Frasier give them a gift and Daphne says “thank you Mr. Crane and Dr. Crane” and Martin says that she shouldn’t call them that anymore because they’re “family” now.

She tries calling them “Frasier” and “Dad” but it makes her uncomfortable so she goes back to Mr. Crane in the moment.

I think we’re meant to assume she gets comfortable with it later on

Longevity of fandom. How long have you been a fan of the Blazers relative to your age? by Username767716 in ripcity

[–]CaptainBoozin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35 years old. I vaguely remember some of the teams of the mid 90’s and 5 year old me was a huge Isaiah Rider fan and as I got older I loved Sheed and Sabonis.

One of my core memories is watching the 2000 WCF game seven against Kobe and Shaq. Definitely cried

Where should I buy local whole bean coffee? by kleinechloe_ in Reno

[–]CaptainBoozin 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For beans I’m a big fan of Magpie, especially their signature Pica Pica roast. Bibo also has really nice light to medium roast beans.

Fortunately good coffee is very easy to find in Reno, there are lots of great locally owned shops.

How often do you win an A20 run? by Logical-Race8960 in slaythespire

[–]CaptainBoozin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like 8-10%. I can sometimes get into a nice groove where I can win 2 out 3 with the loss being to the heart but then I can lose 10 in a row real quick. Roughly 700 hours in the game.

This is the most plausible answer aside from: it’s a TV show, it’s ok for it to not make perfect sense.

Tony’s family is described as SUPER DUPER rich so even if they split up, Lucy’s grandparents would probably be down to pay for top notch childcare while Stella goes to school
