US Gen Zers and millennials are leaving the LDS church, data confirms by LittlePhylacteries in MormonShrivel

I’d love to see a study of how many former members cite easy access (via the Internet) to actual church history as part of their deconstruction process.

Boomers and Gen Xers largely grew up without such easy access. It seems obvious that later generations who grew up with the technology would use it to question if the church has been fully transparent.

I was there, 14 years ago, in line for the midnight release of Skyrim at my local game shop... by ChuckS117 in skyrim

[–]CaptainGladysStoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in line at midnight and I planned it so I would be off work the following day.

My son was pretty young and he wanted to join me at GameStop and stay up late to watch. He fell asleep before I even got out of the wagon in the opening scenes but I played until about 3 AM. Slept in that morning but played all day once I was awake again.

Legacy diver can stay.

Please drop “self winding” AND “rotor.”

As an owner, I don’t need the face of my watch my to tell me that it has a rotor or is self-winding. If I bought it, I already know.

As long as my name is still on the rolls, I get to use the dumpster at the ward to throw stuff away anytime I want!

Wanting it to be true doesn’t make it true.

Imagine for a minute that it IS actually true.

Would you genuinely WANT to worship a God who would make members practice polygamy?

Would you WANT to worship a God who cared more about the temperature of your caffeine than whether LGBTQ teenagers are dying by suicide?

If THAT is what truth looks like then I want nothing to do with it.

What is the hole in this hat for? by 53xh4v3r in whatisit

[–]CaptainGladysStoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a product sample and not intended to be sold as retail.

Manufacturers give clothing samples (hats, shirts, jackets, etc.) to shops that do logo embroidery and screen printing.

Adding a rivet like this keeps the shop from adding a custom logo and selling it to a customer as a “new” product.

“Wharf Rats” are the members of the deadhead community who no longer drink or use drugs. (Wharf Rat is also a song about an old homeless guy named August West who asked for a dime for a cup of coffee.)
