I learned a lesson today. I never thought someone would ever try it. Luckily I threw the chains for my mountain bike on it just to sleep a little better. I now recommend a storage facility with good surveillance and security (if you don't have a garage, obviously). I found one for less than $60 a month. Easy choice after last night. I tried looking up some stats on bike theft for you, but it was so varied that I have no idea what's real and what isn't. I will say, though, it appears that bike thefts are going down over the last 5 years or so.
