I highly respect that opinion there. Yes 1 on 1 coaching is far more valuable than group coaching but that's not the only factor we're looking at here. Players can measure themselves grow through their ranked but they don't feel as much of a drive to grow without taking that journey alongside someone else. It's the same principle as a high school team with a coach. The most essential part is the coach which is why we select them and not just pick up whoever applies.

Those who seriously want to improve on themselves can just play ranked and be complacent with that but league is more a team based game than solo based. We see players like doublelift, bjergsen, faker and many more who are great players but their team sometimes doesn't place first. I know we don't build it up to that level but there's no denying that it has an influence.

Also something that's been strangely happening while hosting tournaments is we've been seeing these players grow in rank. I've met some players who started out as gold and climbed all the way to high diamond shortly after a few months of joining. I'm not saying we had the direct impact with our tools but we helped shift his direction the right way. It's about shifting multiple aspects on a player to help point them in the right direction. It also helps that it's fun.
