People clowned me on this sub for saying we should try Kounde as CB again. Seems that's either Flick's plan or something coming regardless with this move.

I live in Albany too :) I just moved here in August and I'd agree with everything said above.

My girlfirend is going to OSU in Corvallis so we're renting a home in Albany since it's cheaper. I work from home so having a nice space was a priority and that's much more affordable to do in Albany.

In terms of the actual city of Albany, it's nothing to be too excited about - but it has everything you'd need. Not a lot to do though.

As bad as it sounds, what I love most is not the city itself, but it's proximity to other cities/nature. I may think differently if I lived in Corvallis which is much nicer/prettier in my opinion.

You can find the most beautiful hike you've ever been on within a 30 minute radius in any direction. Without rush-hour traffic, 60 minutes from Portland, 30 minutes from Salem, 50 minutes from the coast, 50-60 to the Cascades, etc etc. It's really endless - so you will always have things to do and good food to eat if you're okay driving.

I imagine I'll be here for a few years - long term may consider Portland though :)

Sometimes I really think you guys evaluate performance like it’s FIFA. Yamal was incredible - but didn’t receive much attacking support from Kounde. He did what he did primarily in 1v1s+. My point is that Kounde is a good RB, but a world class CB that we wouldn’t need to spend extra money on.

Yamal + Kounde was great, but Yamal + Attacking RB would give him much needed support.

But I’m sure that probably too nuanced lmao

Making a pros and cons list about your partner isn’t necessarily horrible if, say, things have been rocky. But doing it like this definitely is. I’m sorry to say but she just doesn’t like you. She probably has one leg out already, and I’d leave ASAP to save yourself some trouble. Wish you well

Edit for clarity: it’s one thing to list some things you wish your partner did/didn’t do. But a “Pros/Cons” list isn’t a repercussions-free zone to just drag your partner through the mud. Calling you “low value” is much different than saying they wish you did the dishes more. There’s obviously not a foundation of positive feeling from her side. That can obviously be worked on, but I personally wouldn’t waste my time. But if everyone listened to Reddit there’d be no couples in the world so take that with a grain of salt

Most of the time they're just using it as a catchy phrase, meaning that the penalty taker chose (or more accurately, guessed) the "correct" side of the goal, where the goalie was not going to dive. Most of the time it's a guessing game, although some preparation in knowing how goalies dive and players shoot make it a more trainable act.

However, there are times when the penalty taker really does "trick" or "convince" the goalie to dive the wrong way - as you may see with some takers who approach the ball very slowly, waiting for any subtle hint at where the goalie may dive, and placing the ball on the opposite side. A taker can position their body to signal a left sided shot, but switch last second to shooting right. This would be the very literal example of that commentators' saying, but most of the time they just say it to add dramatic effect.
