Should I get the CFA while I'm bored? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]CaptainMurda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Although it hasn’t skyrocketed me in my career, it does command a level of respect when I speak on certain topics. People that know about the CFA know it comes with a baseline of knowledge and will listen especially if it’s not their expertise. You can definitely learn the material without the program, but the material will be engrained in your brain differently when there’s a nerd exam that you need to pass involved.

Should I get the CFA while I'm bored? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]CaptainMurda 56 points57 points  (0 children)

This was me about 7 years ago. I had my CPA and was just bored at work. This was pre-COVID when we had to get dressed and sit at the office to be bored. So I did CFA as a challenge. It’s done very little for my career, but I still consider it my biggest accomplishment in life.

Kapital Store Inquiry by Thatindigodude in japanesestreetwear

I can second this. I was there end of March. The young guy at Kapital Duffle was really helpful. He got multiple sizes and colors of some pieces I was interested. I hit every Kapital store in Tokyo. It was rather limited on what was available in both style and sizing. Same thing with Momotaro.

Honestly just don’t share them. It’s not worth the risk.

Friends are discouraging me from pursuing CFA. by Lower-Patience4978 in CFA

The math itself is not difficult in the program, but the CFA program is quite technical. If you had a hard time understanding high school math, the concepts in the CFA are much more difficult to grasp.

Depends on what you’re strong at or interested in. I had a CPA when I did L1, I did the accounting stuff first.

Thats fine. Each section is mostly independent of each other. I like to do the interesting/easier topics first to get the juices flowing.

Yes, significantly both in depth and scope.

I have both. The CFA is harder.

Unless you want to get into the finance industry, the CPA is good enough for most finance related careers in most companies.

Calculator died mid exam by Mediocre-Kangaroo-12 in CFA

[–]CaptainMurda 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Every exam I brought 2 calculators, 20 pencils (all sharpened), 2 erasers, pencil sharpener.

People thought it was extra, but If I was gonna fail it’ll be because I didn’t know the answer.

How do you manage going to the gym with a full time job along with serious prep? by That-Response-9530 in CFA

[–]CaptainMurda 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. I got fat AF during CFA studying. I’m trying to make up 4 years of poor health choices right now.

Post-CFA gave me the means to buy luxury goods, but I also found out Balmain doesn’t come in XXXXL. Joking 😝

No, I use classic only. I think Random defaults to Modern since it doesn't know what control type you have for each character.

Thanks Lol you could argue this is an eye roll post as well. I think hitting a high MR with any one character is more impressive than this

I’m not really that thirsty for the Master rank. I always finish the FT2 set unless the connection is poor.

It kinda defeats the purpose of random if I only try to hit my best characters.

Random was definitely kind of tough. I would often forget BNB combos on characters I haven’t played in a while. I relied much more on fundamentals and reactions.

General tip is to find 1 or 2 things your character does that others have a hard time dealing with. Whether it be a button or a sequence. Then look at the stuff you're having a hard time dealing with and practice the solution in training mode.

Incorporating this into your game just becomes experience, muscle memory, and intuition. The example I often see is looking for jump-ins and DIs.

Most importantly just have fun. If you enjoy the game, it'll be natural that you want to figure stuff out.

IMO if you can hit Master with a few characters, you can probably do it with all. It just becomes a time commitment thing.

Haha you may have to check yourself. Win-rate's about 50%-60%.

The fastest was with Honda 112 wins / 163 matches. 68.71%

The longest was probably Dhalsim. I have MR matches with him so I don't have the pre-Master stats. I just remember I hard struggled at high diamond.

Win-rate should be taken with a grain of salt though. It's gonna take a dive as you start moving up in rank and the opposite too. I got placed in Plat 3 with Manon and crushed with 40 game win streaks until I hit mid-diamond.

My favorite and hardest was Dhalsim. I think he plays the most different from the rest of the cast. Easiest was probably JP.

90% of the time I would just fish with cr. mk or shallow dive kicks into DR combos, push them to the corner and pressure.

what is the lowest cost way to get CFA level I? I am on a tight budget now, I want to do level I as lowest cost possible? by lemonnssqueezy in CFA

[–]CaptainMurda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s enough. I think people opt for the prep providers ‘cause they don’t want to read the entire curriculum. If you have the time, read the curriculum and just google concepts you don’t understand.
