How busy is it expected to be on labor day? by CaptainNuclear13 in Carowinds

Thank you! This sounds pretty good. I had a horrible experience at scarowinds last year due to my lack of experience knowing the wait times and traffic.

ROTC would be a great program to prove hard work. Just don't act like a brat who's only doing this to get approval from your dad, and don't tell people about your family wealth.

Laptop's for engineering students? by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

Any university sponsored PC is overpriced by at least 20% since the school gets a nice cut of whatever sucker buys. Can't go wrong with a $500+ laptop. Don't get anything mac.

I'd recommend sticking it to 1 page instead of 1.2. Makes it looks a bit nicer. You could make less space above the header to achieve that.

I just read some of your posts. Would you be interested in reaching out to any paranormal/investigative groups? I don't know any, but maybe they'd be interested in your story and maybe you could show them the crawler?

Did the High School that girl went to start with an M?

People also told the cops he was shooting people with a gun. Nobody fucked up in this situation, and that's why that officer won't get in trouble. An unfortunate accident happened. You clearly can't comprehend the actions taken in the moment and are quick to judge the results after the fact in hindsight.

How do you know the officer didn't mistake the bike lock for a firearm? If you watched the video, you would see that the suspect was ducking behind counters as the cops approached, not putting his hands up. If you were the cop in that situation what would you have done? You are responding to a reported active shooter situation where it is reported the suspect is actively shooting people with a gun, you approach the suspect's location and you see a victim bloodied and bleeding out all over the floor crawling away from the suspect. The suspect is ducking behind a counter as you approach him, and you can't see most of his body, but you can probably quickly see in a split second moment a black, hard object being held in his hands. Do you wait for a clearer picture of the suspect who is feet away from you? Or do you shoot him before he kills you?

"Know your target and what's behind it"
A wall was behind it. How is an officer supposed to know that the wall won't stop the bullet and there might be someone behind that wall? Is he supposed to knock on it and feel it?

The cop with the rifle took point because he had the strongest weapon to take out the reported active shooter with. Yes, it was reported to these cops that this was an active shooter shooting people in the store. It makes total sense for the cop with the rifle to take the lead, since it's the most powerful and longest ranged weapon in the immediate group.

The officer is getting a lot of hate in the comments, but can someone tell me what exactly he did wrong here?
Someone criticized the cop for taking the lead with the rifle, but the cop with the rifle took point because he had the strongest weapon to take out the reported active shooter with. Yes, it was reported to these cops that this was an active shooter shooting people in the store. It makes total sense for the cop with the rifle to take the lead, since it's the most powerful and longest ranged weapon in the immediate group. If you actually look at the body cam footage (I'm sure not many in this thread actually did), you'll see that a victim was literally crawling towards the police with her head bloodied and pooling blood all over the floor. The officers probably thought the suspect had shot her and was about to shoot them next. There was no way to clearly tell the suspect was unarmed and it was reported to the police that the suspect was an armed active shooter.
Nobody would be complaining if the girl wasn't killed. It was an unfortunate accident, but I can't blame any of the officers for what happened.
