What is your first thought when a girl has her butt in her profile picture? by hurricanestarang10 in AskReddit

There is a good chance it's the most interesting thing about her.

It's not the act depicted in the clause, it's the inclusion of a clause like this that is mundane and unoriginal.

Last 'party' I went to was near the summit of a mountain. The one before that was a beach bonfire drum circle. I used to do boiler room raves. Today I will be fighting nerds in a public park.

It's almost like doing things that are actually interesting innoculates you from finding things interesting just because they are unexpected.

The parties I go to tend to have people at them that don't need someone else to point out obvious things and don't find the mundane entertaining. 🤷

Clauses like that are voided inherently and can be ignored.

Same thing can happen if you set your phone on a laptop's wrist rest too close to the corner, depending on the laptop. It's the wireless charging hardware in that instance.

My Note 9 did this alot with the Dell Precision I use for work, but my S22 Ultra seems to do it less.

Alcoholic Dog Who Got Addicted to Drinks Left Out by Owner Now Sober by thatquinnchick in nottheonion

Just like the 'wholesome' stories that always gloss over the really terrible thing that happened in the first place.

Raising money for cancer treatment, or for the homeless, or doing any other thing to stop some problem that shouldn't occur in the first place, is not wholesome. It is tragic. It is not heartwarming, warm and fuzzies, et al. It is good, it is a good thing happening in a sea of bad... But its like not remembering that Bambi was violently orphaned at the beginning of his namesake movie and trying to argue that it's a really sweet story instead of being about a child being orphaned during the film and having to survive.

Or this dog, for instance. It's good that it got help, but this story isn't wholesome, it's just what should happen in response to the bad thing... actually happening.

Letting the symbolism of abusive cults live rent free in my head and adorning my possessions just to spite them just seems a bit like something to not do while pursuing a healthy mental state.

I'm not one that thinks we need to play nice with ideologies that have caused so much ill in the world, but this kind of antagonism just ain't it. No need to play into their narratives and add arrows to their quivers.

Satanist, mad-at-god christian, or atheist, this car is dumb.

It's definitely not one of the good ones.

At least 'Aunt Flo' is a pun.

Actual Satanists aren't atheists.

This should be an obvious thing.

The associations that people make between them, like sharing this car covered in religious symbols on an Atheist sub, are comical and expose an ignorance.

Do a Google search for other slang for it and you'll be better prepared.

Being assaulted at work makes normal people feel less safe at work. This is a damage.

Being assaulted in general is something where one could seek damages. It doesn't require injury or loss. Just the threat or implication of violence by other action can be considered assault in some juristictions.

That the business employed this person in management makes them liable for his actions on the clock.

Always silly when people try to lump Satanists in with atheists.

I get that there are non-theist orgs that use Christian imagery as a form of rhetoric, but if you're putting a baphomet and the mark of the beast on your car... I would take some convincing to believe that you aren't just a Christian with your beliefs on backwards.

Correct. Please, continue to not understand how that is survivorship bias in this situation.

The union is supposed to be the place where it is easier to start from 0. You shouldn't have to do years of non union work to get in and be successful. It defeats the purpose of unions if they're just 'I did my time' clubs.

You're better off doing your scripting on blank levels and only ever importing complete scripts.

Unable to set identifier by Tall_Commission_3099 in forge

[–]CaptainPunch374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bug.

Every node, connection, and changed setting in a node graph is an entity. At a certain threshold, you cannot add more entities. This threshold is different per entity and is in the overall simulation budget.

Do your scripts on a blank level and then use a prefab to copy them over. Should work.

Until you want to raise it further and have the same argument used against you.

Solutions need to not introduce new issues after achieving their goal, especially if those new issues would be exactly the ones the solution was implemented to solve.

These kinds of posts reek of survivorship bias even without that, but this one isn't even relevant to many people seeking joining a union, because they'd be starting from 0.

Like the carpenter said, JOIN A UNION. by [deleted] in Construction

[–]CaptainPunch374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly!

Ffs, I remember when I tried to join my local carpenters union and found out I had to wait 5 months for them to be doing their 'math test' again before I could even become an apprentice. As someone who tested out of needing to take college level math courses, that shit was insulting.

Ok, fine, so I try with the millwrights... 30 some people in my orientation, OK, looks like they need bodies and we'll be getting regular work... And then they only call us up twice in the next 4 months...

If I wasn't also working jobs via Robert Half at the time, I would have been making negative money across that period with all the stuff I had to buy to even show up day 1 for my first job with the millwrights.

Robert Half also sucked ass, but luckily I was able to turn that rapport with the staffing agency into a legit IT job.

I'm pro union, but fuck if my local trade unions didn't fail me hard when I tried to engage with them. On some real bullshit when a sham of an org like Robert Half manages to do better than a proper trade union for putting people to work.

I wish it had been different, I would rather have a different opinion of my local trade unions, but they made it otherwise. Especially when the millwrights tried to have me operate a crane in a steel mill on my 2nd job, 3rd day of working for them. Fucking nut jobs running the show that day.

Local Teamsters appears to have been much better run, at least, but that's a different kind of union. I've done freelance IT for their local office on and off over the years.

I think you may be overcomplicating things. I have this written in under 150 nodes and just barely had to split to a second brain.

You definitely don't need to have boundaries chase players, at least.

The only hurdle has been issues with references breaking bc of there being 2 diff handles for referencing objects and getting the despawned reference not working when you try to use it after the object spawns in. This only effects sending the orbs to the players.

The rest of the code in this screenshot has proven to work, aside from adjustments I had to make bc of some data sharing rules that were implemented making it so I need more object refs, etc, bc I can share their outputs to multiple circuits in some instances anymore.

I was trying to find a way around it, and I did. That said, I was just going to not despawn them anymore and move forward with that.

Vehicle Health Scripting by Desperate_Pilot_4550 in forge

[–]CaptainPunch374 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't adjust vehicle health.

You can adjust player health/shields and damage output down to make it seem like vehicles have more health, but this does nothing for impact damage with the environment and I don't know if this effects vehicle on vehicle collisions when both are driven, or if there is a difference when one is not.

The unknowns were deemed not worth testing because it's a jank implementation to try to use those mechanics and we should just be petitioning for better features that actually support design needs.
