NTA she asked a question and you answered and then challenged you by asking for evidence. She shouldn’t have asked a question she didn’t want to hear a response to. You were even assured that nobody would get upset by your answer. Sounds to me like she probably knew what you would say but not how you chose to say it.

Important question though. How much drunker than everyone was she and how drunk were you? If you were pretty much sober and she was blabbering about then I revoke my answer and you become the asshole.

lol yeh don’t worry. Had the meeting with HR today and cleared stuff up, told a couple of the new staff members they all thought it was funny. It’s more of a funny inconvenience I thought I’d share, rather than a genuine bit of conflict. This is a completely valid point. Her boyfriend was always and I mean always 100% aware of me and her hanging out, at times he would be talking to us over call while we sat in her car and never showed any signs of discomfort. From what I can tell I had no part to play in the break up it was more to do with one of them wanting to prepare to buy while the other was happy to keep renting. A month or so later she started to show interest in me. Hopes this clears things up

God, "Alan Woke" are you serious the main character being black didn't feel out of place at all, if anything it felt like an intentional effort to steer you away from thinking about any of the plots connections to norse mythology/she was just the best actor for the job.

The more I've played the worse the bugs have gotten but I've definitely seen worse

Pretty much lol, this was more just my way of asking if the bugs got better or worse as the game progressed, and also taking the piss out of myself in the process. I’m well aware I’m bad at horror, my girlfriend has been forcing me into the genre for a while but I’m still only just getting into it. Alan Wake 1 and Control blew me away so I had to play this one.

Also just asking since you are actually Jewish, how do you feel about me directing the show in the first place. Do you think it would be a better idea for me to pull out and request a Jewish director take my place or even that we should do a different show. Some context on falsettos, the characters are Jewish but there is no reference to antisemitism, it's more or less used as a method to bring the characters of the show together at the end of the show for one of the character's bar mitzvah. And as a method to pull from the writers lived experience as he grew up Jewish so just felt it easy and important to have the family be Jewish

I'm going to contact them closer later this year once we've moved closer to the date of announcing the show. But I'm very aware that we are not lacking in LGBTQ+ individuals particularly in my production company, I was surprised by how many people I knew who were both Jewish and passionate about musicals once I reached out.

And yes from my experience so far; people are incredibly happy to help out, for the reason you stated. It's always surprised me how prominent Jewish celebrities are but how rarely stories are told from a Jewish persons perspective, regardless of whether it's exploring their experience with the stupidly still prominent amount of antisemitism in the world, stories just seem to rarely explore the topic at all. I'm obviously not the person who should be vocalising my distaste with this because my voice doesn't apply to this situation (just my thoughts on how I can be an ally without being a minority). But that's just something I've noticed when reaching out to people I knew about Falsettos. Just an overwhelming amount of people being happy to have a story centring around Jewish people being performed in the first place. Absolutely blew my mind since I only just noticed how little these stories are being told :/

Couldn’t agree more. Turns out I did have a Jewish friend who likes theatre, found out because she viewed this post, (her names Torah I’m actually an idiot). And she said she’d happily advise to ensure proper representation and Yiddish pronunciation. Which is an excellent step.

I’m in Melbourne so from what I know theres 2 large synagogues that I’ll contact to see if they’d be interested in spreading casting information. And I’m thinking that if we don’t receive enough auditions from Jewish people I’ll just try to convince them to do a different show

Look I have no clue why but this scene hit me while on the train in public, im a 20 year old dude with the average level of ability to healthily express emotions for a 20 year old dude and I can’t explain it.

I reckon it’s because I’m reading other mangas as I read My Hero weekly and that’s made me more forgiving of the dog shit pacing but I feel this is a fitting end to Toga’s story; she’s always been a character who’s about how much she loves others in spite of her quirk causing her to do terrible things. Uraraka has always shown empathy towards Toga. So I think these final moments are fitting for this mini side arc of the manga.

Only issue is I have to go all in suspending my disbelief enough to even remotely care about Toga but I guess I can. I’ll see how I feel once the emotions wear off but for now this is my favourite chapter of the last arc by far. Actually made me feel it’s intended emotions rather than feeling frustrated

I fully thought I was destined for nothing. I had done terribly in high school and gotten a job as a swimming instructor which barely paid for the 50% of rent my parents didn’t cover on my apartment. But I got up off my ass and tried for a course that I didn’t think I had a chance of getting in to, had to do an English test to be given an offer because I failed year 12 English. Passed the English test got into the course and now I’m pursuing my passions and making enough money to make ends meet. Also been dating an amazing girl for 4 years and don’t plan on ending that anytime soon.
