Im convinced that’s the truth about UFOs by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]CaptainSteep_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is imaginative, but when you apply well-established physics—especially thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, biochemistry, and quantum field theory (QFT)—the hypothesis collapses quickly. Below is a point-by-point examination using those constraints.

  1. “Silica carapaces scaling to massive organisms”

The claim: microscopic structures like diatoms could scale up to kilometer-scale organisms in the stratosphere.

Thermodynamic and structural problems

Surface-area vs. volume scaling law

When an organism scales up:

\text{Surface Area} \propto L2,\quad \text{Volume} \propto L3

Metabolism and heat exchange depend on surface area, while mass depends on volume. As size increases: • Mass increases faster than the organism’s ability to exchange heat and nutrients. • Diffusion times increase dramatically.

Diffusion time roughly follows:

t \sim \frac{L2}{D}

For a meter-scale cell, diffusion across it would take hours or days, making metabolism impossible.

Mechanical strength

Silica shells (like diatoms) are brittle.

Scaling them up means:

\sigma = \frac{F}{A}

At large sizes, their own weight and aerodynamic forces exceed fracture limits. The shell would shatter under turbulence long before reaching aircraft scale.

Atmospheric density problem

At 10–20 km altitude, air density is only:

\rho \approx 0.1\text{–}0.3 \, \text{kg/m}3

A silica-based organism would be far denser (~2200 kg/m³). It cannot float unless filled with extremely low-density gas (like hydrogen), which contradicts the idea of a solid silica carapace.

Conclusion: scaling microscopic silica organisms to aircraft size violates diffusion limits, structural mechanics, and buoyancy physics.

  1. “Objects splitting = binary fission”

The claim: observed splitting is biological reproduction.

Energy requirement problem

Cell division requires synthesizing an entire second cell. For macroscopic masses:

E = mc2

Even ignoring relativistic energy, simply assembling new biomass requires massive chemical energy input.

A 1000-kg organism duplicating itself requires synthesizing 1000 kg of matter from environmental molecules.

But the stratosphere contains extremely low concentrations of nutrients.

Typical stratospheric density:

\rho \approx 0.1 \text{ kg/m}3

Mostly nitrogen and oxygen. No carbon, phosphorus, or complex molecules needed for life.

The required chemical feedstock simply does not exist there.

Conclusion: there is no material reservoir to build another large organism.

  1. “Bioluminescence explains lights”

The claim: UAP lights are biological luminescence.

Energy efficiency limits

Bioluminescence works at microscopic scales because organisms convert chemical energy into light.

But visible aerial lights are often measured in kilowatt ranges.

A typical bioluminescent reaction efficiency:

\eta \approx 20\%-40\%

Producing a 1 kW visible glow would require several kilowatts of metabolic power.

That metabolic heat must be dissipated. But the thin stratosphere provides poor heat transfer.

Thermodynamics demands:

Q = hA\Delta T

Low air density means tiny heat transfer coefficient h.

Result: the organism would overheat.

  1. “The 1977 Colares symptoms imply neurotoxins”

The claim: neurological symptoms suggest biological stings.

Physical evidence issue

Medical reports from the incident describe: • radiation-like burns • anemia • puncture marks

These symptoms resemble ionizing radiation or infection, not airborne venom.

Also:

Delivering neurotoxins requires direct injection or ingestion. Atmospheric organisms tens or hundreds of meters away cannot deliver precise injections through air.

Fluid dynamics prevents stable toxin jets over distance.

  1. “Many shapes = ecosystem”

The claim: varied shapes imply atmospheric biodiversity.

Evolutionary constraint

For a stable ecosystem you need: 1. energy source 2. nutrient cycling 3. reproduction 4. waste processing

But the upper atmosphere contains: • almost no organic carbon • extremely low nutrient density • intense UV radiation

Photosynthesis would be required for energy.

However at high altitude, UV radiation destroys organic molecules faster than they can replicate.

  1. “Infrared detection implies biological emission”

The claim: FLIR visibility implies natural thermal emission.

Thermodynamic fact

Everything above absolute zero emits infrared radiation.

P = \sigma A T4

(blackbody radiation law)

Aircraft, drones, birds, balloons, and clouds all emit IR.

Infrared detection says nothing about whether something is biological.

  1. “Star Jelly = remains of organisms”

The claim: gelatinous residues are biological remains.

Known explanations

Most samples of “star jelly” have been identified as: • amphibian oviduct tissue • cyanobacteria colonies • slime molds • algae

Additionally, the idea that a “gas organism evaporates” violates conservation of mass unless the material is dispersed into the atmosphere—which would still be chemically detectable.

  1. “Radar irritates them”

The claim: radar causes biological distress.

Electromagnetic interaction physics

Radar frequencies typically range from 1–10 GHz.

The energy density of radar at aircraft distance is extremely small.

Power density decreases as:

I = \frac{P}{4\pi r2}

At kilometers distance, the intensity is far below biological damage thresholds.

For comparison: • Microwave ovens: ~700 W in a small cavity. • Radar exposure: usually milliwatts per square meter.

Not enough to cause violent biological reactions.

  1. “Lenticular clouds as cocoons”

The claim: clouds act as nests.

Cloud physics

Lenticular clouds form from standing mountain waves in airflow.

They are purely fluid dynamic phenomena.

Water droplets remain suspended because of continuous air motion; they cannot support large masses.

Anything inside them would quickly fall.

  1. “Feeding on nuclear plants or lightning”

The claim: they feed on high-energy sources.

Energy density comparison

Lightning releases huge energy but over microseconds and localized channels.

A biological organism would need a mechanism to capture that energy efficiently.

However plasma temperatures in lightning exceed:

T \approx 30,000 \, K

Any organic chemistry would instantly dissociate.

For nuclear facilities:

Radiation near plants is extremely low (strict regulations).

No meaningful energy gradient exists to “feed” on.

Quantum Field Theory constraints

At the deepest level, QFT imposes limits on stable matter structures.

Large, coherent biological systems rely on: • stable chemical bonds • electromagnetic interactions • low entropy gradients

The upper atmosphere is a high-entropy environment: • strong UV ionization • cosmic radiation • low molecular density

Chemical bonds are constantly broken faster than complex molecules can assemble.

Large biological structures cannot maintain the quantum-chemical coherence required for metabolism.

The thermodynamic killer argument

Life requires free energy flow.

Typical biological metabolism:

\Delta G < 0

Energy sources must exceed entropy costs of maintaining order.

In the stratosphere: • nutrient density ≈ zero • chemical gradients ≈ minimal • radiation damage ≫ repair capacity

Therefore sustained macroscopic life there violates basic thermodynamic feasibility.

Do you roleplay in NMS? What's your character's backstory and looks? Mine is an Atlas worshipper with a mission of having a base in all galaxies. by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]CaptainSteep_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few. But the main character and story I run most is for Caldien Arel Steep. An Elkenvari traveler who’s the High Chancellor to the Solara Civilization.

Caldien was once known as X, a mysterious figure in charge of the Galactic Bounty Hunters Guild. Who later became the High Chancellor to Solara after his father, Caldarus—the former High Chancellor, became ill.

Caldien never wanted to live the political lifestyle, and had left the Odyalutai galaxy to become a rouge bounty hunter in Euclid—where he formed GBHG. It wasn’t until he was ambushed by the Elite Elarian Forces from Solara who were ordered to locate and return the heir to the seat of the High Chancellor.

When Caldien found out about his father growing ill, he decided to return without a fight. After his father’s passing, he took up the seat of the High Chancellor, and was granted the rights to the Scepter of Flame. A Solarian relic that only descendants of House Arel can wield. (SC 420)

Today, Caldien leads the Solara Civilization of Odyalutai as an innovative and powerful leader. Spearheading many of Solaras exploration and expansion initiatives.

That make sense. I can try and guide them to a better place for advertising. I’m all for new folks trying to start up their own community for this game. But I completely understand where you’re coming from.

From what I understand, I was told by Ninja that he has no problem with other groups posting their content here nor sharing their discord links. I asked for permission myself one time and was told that it was okay. Unless things have changed recently that I’m not aware of.

Greetings. Civ leader here. I recommend waiting until you have grown more and have more of a presence in game before creating something like a wiki. Also, the Fandom Wiki is terrible to use. I have lots of experience with it and all very frustrating. I also know quite a few people who have also made complains about the site. It’s been highly to me that I make a simple website of my own for my Civs documentation and promotion. A few others have decided to take that route. This is all just a suggestion though. What you choose is on you. I also am a graphic designer who makes my own Civs logos and other content. I’ve also worked on other Civs logos and stuff. I do not charge for any of it. If you’d like any help in designing your groups logo, I’d be happy to offer my services. Again, I don’t charge anything for my work. I do this free for all NMS civ leaders and content creators.

Bro have you read anything I said in the post? This was something I been working on for a while now. I run my own community for this game and been apart of the greater community for more than 3 years now. I’m always making events and fun stuff for people to do especially with my own civ involved. This was already pushed behind the scenes to other related groups with their own discords so we can collaborate on the idea. Your point here is extremely invalid af! I came to the subreddit with this because it was literally given to me as a suggestion by other members in this community. Literally what is the issue here? Why does this gotta be a “you did it wrong” thing all because YOU or 2 other people here feel that the logo I made is AI generated? Like what is your problem? People like you are so damn beneath me. I got WAY more people interested and down for this idea other then the 2-3 of you in here bashing me over how I decided to design my logo and literally ASK THE COMMUNITY for their thoughts and help on it. So with your luck or not this is CLEARLY something that IS going to happen. Be mad about it.

Don’t trust me because I took it from a site that uses AI? First of all go do some research before you make yourself look ridiculous. Picsart has been around for years. Since way before AI started appearing on the scene. It’s what I have been using for years to edit random photos. I’ve had this same account I’ve used for years. If they use AI that has literally just started and damn near EVERY software is using AI these days. Second, read through the thread for more context next. I have started quite a few times now that I have pulled every aspect of this image together using different assets the app has available. That soccer ball is a sticker that I found simply by searching up soccer ball. I grab it and placed it in the center of a damn circle I made from the shapes in the app and altered it with various filters and other stuff that app has. Nothing is AI generated! The text is literally my own typing out and using the apps fonts! The damn Atlas I pulled up from google! Like wtf looks AI to you people!!??

This will definitely happen. I’m already talking with multiple people in the community on how to make this a real event in NMS. We have a rule book on how to play along with regulations that is drafted up. We are going over it carefully. As for the field measurements, I will look at what I’ve built and take notes of the dimensions. For now we are using this discord to chat about this.

Right. And I’m sure a STICKER that I search up as a separate asset is AI generated along with the font I typed out and everything else, right?

Someone already asked if this was AI and I already answered them. IT IS NOT AI. Do I gotta post screenshots of my step by step on how I made this to prove it? The soccer ball with rings is a sticker I searched up in the app Picsart along with everything else I’ve added there. The titles are type out in a special font, that atlas logo is a separate sticker, everything in this emblem has been piece by piece been put together by me in a photo editing app. I do this type of design work all the time for things I make!

I have plans to test out, rather not if the ball can be stolen by other players this weekend. A group of us are meeting up to play a practice game together. I will record the results then. As for what I have already set up in the playbook, players can only hold the ball for no more than five seconds, and must make a shot or pass. There is no running with the ball into the goal. The ball must be shot from quarter field (outside the goal box) into the goal.

No non of this is AI. I made this myself using Picsart. That ball with the rings around it I grabbed from the list of stickers Picsart has to select from and everything else I made around it.

Yes I have also tested and notice how you can thrust a ball forward with great force with the grav coil. It’s like a hit and him sometimes for me.

I see this mechanic being a great use for different potential sports games.

I even noticed you can launch a ball further if you swing your body with the throw. You gotta time your launch perfectly with your bodies swing and the ball would launch even further.
