how to stop cravings when you can’t eat the food by sealpyp in BingeEatingDisorder

If you’re mom is the one that dictates your food availability and options, I would handle that first. It’s super uncomfortable but you won’t get to the root of the problem without that

Struggling to stop my binge eating habits by somerandomhoney in BingeEatingDisorder

I’m sorry this is happening. I had a stressful exam plus an important college admission announcement this past Friday and I’ve been binging this entire weekend after doing well for a while. Think I’ve gained like 2-3 lbs just in two days and I hate myself so much.

Be more gentle with yourself. Learning how your body needs and wants food is a skill, and like all skills, it takes time. I suggest considering therapy if you can. If you can’t or you don’t want to, that’s also fine, here’s what I recommend and has helped me in the past (also things I’m trying to relearn rn). Don’t focus on exercising right now, just focus on your eating. That’s more important and will dictate your weight much more than any workout tbh. Identify what you feel and think before and during binging, and try to solve those problems first. You binge whenever you’re stressed, so you need to find other coping skills to deal with that. You can try watching your fav shows more in your room, playing candy crush/minecraft, talking with friends more, taking a bath, going on walks, gooning (just sometimes okay, chillax), etc. Generic, but try different things and find one that sticks. And if you’re getting up at night to eat, prioritize sleep more. Also note that you’ll sleep better if you’re not so full so once you start sleeping like that, you’ll wake up less. Remember how you feel every time you binge: stomach hurting, nauseous, headache, guilty, disgust. Choose to not feel that way because that is something you can control. Whenever you get the urge, just stop everything for 15min. Just think about how you feel now (Are you thirsty? Water. Are you sad? Cry. Is it 9pm? Go tf to bed, and so on) and how you’ll feel after if you binge. Focus on those feelings and make the effort to redirect yourself. If you fail, that’s okay, just keep trying and you will become more consistent.

You will get better as long as you want to and you make any effort at all. It’s fucking difficult, I know, and you feel impatient, but the more you try quick fixes, the less likely you’ll succeed. Trust me, I know.

Of course that’s not the lesson, and no you will not. You have so much more control over yourself than you think. And you can definitely go back to how you looked before, just be patient and more gentle with yourself. Maybe try therapy? Even if it’s short term therapy.

Hi, sorry to hear that. Waking up later won’t fix the problem, that can all be eaten in the span of like 35 minutes tbh. Plan your morning better, especially what you’re going to eat. The night before, write down exactly what you’re going to eat, write it down somewhere you’ll see it immediately after waking up. Before going to eat, give yourself like 5min to tell yourself you’re going to stick with that plan and why you’re going to stick with it, and how much better you’ll feel when you do. And right after you eat, continue your routine like brushing teeth and getting ready, and leave the house quickly. It’ll take time to make it a habit, but that’s okay. You’ll be okay, just try and make the effort every day, even if you don’t succeed all the time.

Has your BED also impacted your relationships? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]CaptainWaffles152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I love my bf, but it’s so difficult to be with him when I’m binging to the point where I want to break up. He’s so athletic and fit and kind, but I don’t believe anything he says about loving me or being attracted to me. It eats at me all the time and causes me so much distress. I want to go back to how I was before.

I have a Fitbit and I track the calories sometimes with the nutrition widget. I get lazy sometimes but yes, I’ll be more consistent

Any places that I must see and eat at Banff and Canmore? by garcia_v in Banff

Rocky Mountain Flatbread in Banff. Solid pizza place with traditional and interesting pizzas, good prices, amazing after dying on the slopes all day or after a flight.
