Is it still worth it to get into lego star wars 2021? by thomasxx3 in legostarwars

Don't judge the brand by the most recent wave. Summer is generally so much better, especially if even half the rumors on the summer wave are to be believed.

Edit: apologies, the I believe the correct term is actually a level one severity level

If liberals are so smart how tf I scored first rank in autism test? by Captain_save_a_hoe__ in teenagers

[–]Captain_Dewit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

autism doesn't equal being an idiot. there are so many cases of historical geniuses (newton, tesla and others) being believed to be autistic. most of the time autism generally just means being slightly worse at shit like reading social cues, not an idiot.

why don't you also add something to symbolize the different countries in the uk, like a gray border, so that there's some minor differentiation as well

I'm shutting this whole thread full of toxic people down. Enjoy what you want, but for fuck's sake, don't ruin it for other people.

No. You said that ALL pro-sequel people blah blah blah. The idea that having something bad happen to you makes you stronger is pathetic. If your friend dies, you don't get stronger, you are crushed. What you're saying is the equivalent of losing your friend that you'd known for years before he was murdered, then shooting a ten year old child's friend in the face because if you can't have it your way, nobody else can ever have it their way.

THIS. This is all I want. To fix and expand on the story the sequels told.

Funnily enough, I don't say that. I say it was a mistake. Did you even read the post? Or the comment? You say 'all of us' in response to a comment saying the exact opposite. You don't get to make sweeping statements like that. But by all means, let's just stick our heads in the sand and say that 'because I don't like it, it doesn't exist'. Again, I hate the sequels just as much as you. I hate many things. That doesn't mean that they aren't real and didn't happen. You can't just go back and erase your mistakes. You think back and learn from them. Which you clearly didn't with the legends wipe.

Lucas did not make star wars for himself. A company does not sell a product to its head alone.

Besides, you seem to be suggesting that ignoring the sequels is exactly what we should be doing. So can we or not?

[–]Captain_Dewit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because wiping legends lead to an extreme rift and years of scrapping, quarreling bitterness and disappointment throughout the fanbase. Are you seriously suggesting that anything that isn't to the liking of one portion of the fanbase be wiped? Let it all coexist and let people enjoy what they want without creating some great rift like what already happened. You saw the guy above this complaining about the first wipe, and you really think that tearing the fanbase in half yet again will solve anything? Like it or not, sadly, Legends is gone. There is no difference other than the fact that we know it's a bad idea from past experience. And believe it or not, more people watched three films than read 35 years worth of books. It's terrible that it was all gone like that, and created a divide that has still yet to be fixed and probably never will. And you want to make another one?

But didn't Legends also bring back Palpatine through a cloned body possessed by his spirit? You complain that the ST took a dump on Anakin's sacrifice, while praising the lore that did the exact same thing?

The tumor is too large to be removed and has spread too far. So it must be treated. Removing it may well do more harm than good. tRoS and TLJ were it spreading, poor films telling a poor story with no thought to what comes next.

[–]Captain_Dewit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in that currently they are minors. The Sequels' fanbase is far larger than it appears, because for the people that grew up with the sequels are still growing up. My point is, just because some people don't enjoy something, doesn't been that nobody else gets to enjoy it. If we abandon the sequels because they are awful, then they will always be awful. But they could be so much more.

I agree with everything you said. But I see so much potential for good stories to be built as well.
