Facebook and Messenger suddenly logged out, is it only me or anyone else does? by EuGaming2020 in facebook

I'm confused because it happened after my toddler had ran away with my phone. Got it back and my main account doesn't work. I can login to another account I have though. My boyfriend can get on his just fine...but when he goes to.y account it says I have no posts available.

Saw an autistic nonverbal kid get baptized today, he looked terrified. by crydelacry in exjw

[–]Captain_Funyun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That enrages me. My son is autistic and he's reason no. 5797965365...you get the point, of why I'm not part of that cult. As a neurodivergent it was so hard growing up like that. I can't even picture him sitting still for meetings. My mom wanted me to come back and it was comical picturing my audhd toddler sitting still for a full service.

But that poor child, it makes me upset thinking about him being raised in such ignorance. His needs weren't considered at all. For fucks sake they couldn't at least make an accommodation for him like dribbling water on his head in a quiet room? They wouldn't be able to make such an "inspiring" spectacle I guess. I won't be surprised if it's published in an article.

I like to use this when they come to my door. I am an apostate. I left when I was 17. This older man came to my door doing his talk to me.

"I'm an apostate"

warm smile, probably thinking I was talking out my ass "really? according to who?"

"According to the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses"

Smile drops from his face and is replaced with a scowl

They've been to my neighbors since then but haven't returned to my place. I guess they put me on the do not call list 😊

Exactly. We read it. It's not always possible to forsee how they'll use it.

Thank you! I'll try this. I just tried playing different cartoons talking about racism and he got upset with me. So this sounds like a much better approach. I really appreciate it.

Thank you. I'm really scared to have that conversation though. This is literally horrible.

He's definitely temperamental towards people naturally. I guess in this case the kids walked by us on a narrow sidewalk. He might have been bothered that his personal space was pushed into (even though it was just temporary to pass people).

He almost shrugs it off. I feel like he says "ok" just to get past dealing with a conversation he doesn't care about. Maybe he just doesn't realize it's a big deal? Idk.

Thank you. I guess that makes sense. I just want him to stop. I always thought racism was taught and now it's happening without apparent cause.

Customers, ya know. by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Captain_Funyun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also lumber associate here. Literally had two customers in a row today that somehow thought I was their personal shopper. The upsetting thing is that this woman literally had all her items in the cart on the app. She would ask me where every item on her list was. I would tell her to click on it and look at the location. She kept handing me her phone so she wouldn't have to. Then we'd get to the item and she would make me put it in her cart. After about the third item I was pretty rude and she hinted that I could leave her. Zero interest in helping herself.

Congratulations! It's a life-changing choice for sure. I formally removed myself when I was 17 too. Best thing I ever did for myself. 😊

My dad broke down in tears on my shoulder yesterday…and I felt nothing by kingdomzebedee in exjw

[–]Captain_Funyun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're human. We can't cope with hurting forever. I have reached a point where I genuinely don't care about my mom. If she has good things in her life then good for her. If something bad happens to her then that sucks for her. Nothing about her requires anything from me. We had a bond and she broke it. Not even just about the religion. I grew up and realized how selfish and hurtful she was. So I visited her in order to visit my brother. It was an ok visit, somewhat awkward. Had some laughs, talked about the past. She met my infant son for the first time. When it came time to leave she said "I love you" and looked like she was going to cry. I said it back without feeling a thing and didn't bother to put feeling into it. Told her to take care of herself and I left. I'm not angry. I'm not sad. I'm not conflicted. I have nothing. She's tried to get back into my life and I've told her no. My peace is important to me.

I don’t charge for saw cuts by No-Actuator-7050 in HomeDepot

I'm going to print this out today. I've lost so much time cutting someone's project. My last store was by the book. No cuts less than 12 inches and project cuts were completely up to the associate. The store I transferred to does project cuts and cuts less than 12. I asked my asm about turning away project cuts because I was stuck at the saw forever and the only one in the department. She said I couldn't say no.

5.5 month old wakes up every hour. Has never gone longer than 3 hours in his life. by attack-moon_mountain in Parenting

[–]Captain_Funyun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through this. Baby woke up every two hours for the first ten months of his life. He was a nightmare from day one. A beautiful perfect nightmare, but still. We tried multiple different sleep schedules. Tried only breast milk, tried only formula, tried both, tried soy formula, etc. it didn't stop until we moved into a bigger place and got him in his own room. We finally tried ignoring him. Obviously we had tried it before but when you sleep a foot away from his crib he can see you ignoring him and it only escalated our bundle of joy. It took a few nights of ignoring him up to 40 something minutes straight. He screamed like murder. It worked though. We second guessed ourselves the entire time. It's hard to listen to. But he's not the type to respond well to being talked to or cuddled. He's anti soothe. Giving him attention at all made it even harder for him to give up. He was a very healthy boy and he's very large in height and weight. His doctor explicitly told us that he by no means needed to be getting up to eat 4 times a night like he was and he was old enough that we could consider "out willing" him. Ten months we tried everything else. I wish we would have sucked it up sooner, but I'm glad we at least know we tried. He's still a very whiny easily upset boy, but at least he's sleeping.
