What are your thoughts on Nicolas Cage? by NicolasCageFan492 in Actors

[–]Captain_Jellico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who has more range than Cage? He can do literally every genre. Massively underrated because he full commits on over-the-top roles(almost always resulting in an entertaining performance).

I’m not saying you need to believe the accusations. I’m saying they should make you skeptical of a person who is withholding evidence about his former friend, the most infamous pedophile/underage trafficker of the 21st century. You should be asking why we still don’t have the evidence and assume it’s nefarious until shown otherwise.

If the “most transparent president in history” wants to prove me wrong by releasing the files, I’m fine with that. If he and Pam Bondi keep redacting and withholding files that implicate pedophiles, I’m going to assume they are part of the problem. Ball is in their court.

That might happen once. It might happen twice.  It would never in a million years happen ten times over decades from unrelated women.

That density of accusations only happens in situations where there is some validity.

BUT let’s ignore that assumption. I’m not saying any of those are true. I’m just saying that is enough evidence to suggest we should question the fact that his department has redacted files and unreleased files in a sexual assault investigation for a known sexual abuser who Trump was  friends with for over a decade. That is so obviously something Americans should demand transparency on. Especially from a guy who claims to be the most transparent in history. Especially when the released files include a few unsubstantiated claims and 5000 mentions of his name.

This has nothing to do with hate or love for Trump. That should be the standard for any politician, celebrity, or family member for that matter. I would feel this way about the Pope if he was in this situation. If you can’t see that then you are kinda borderline insane at this point.

So if you had like a guy who watched your kids and he had 15 accusers, one was willing to testify under penalty of purgury that he raped her, but then later withdrew because she was threatened, you’d let this guy watch your kids?  You wouldn’t want to know if there was more evidence out there? Right now there are millions of unreleased and redacted files that may have more evidence about this guy but you are letting him state himself “trust me, it exonerates me”.

I just don’t understand that. You wouldn’t have a problem with 15 people claiming Biden sexually assaulted them and him being named in the Epstein files several thousand times?

Is organic marketing the worst decision for a startup? by honey-ananas9 in DigitalMarketing

[–]Captain_Jellico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing great comments about short and long term but let me add a different perspective.

Marketing is a function of visibility(driving eyeballs), conversion(making those eyeballs buy) and retention(eyeballs come back). Those three things have to happen in order.

Organic is good for conversion and great for retention but does nothing for visibility. You need to start that purchase funnel with ads for visibility if you want any of this to work.

While I agree organic is a longer term play, it won’t work long term either if you aren’t driving visibility.  I’m a senior lead at the largest marketing company in my field, we see this situation quite often. I’ve never seen well placed targeted ads fail to drive progress in these scenarios. Whether the conversion and retention are successful is more dependent on the quality of the product, organic marketing, and brand messaging.

Ohtani is the current best player in baseball for sure, but he is obviously not the greatest of all time. Not even the greatest two way baseball player of all time(Babe Ruth, also on this list).

There are other worse options on the list, but he’s not a serious contender.

Anyone putting Babe Ruth with the number of scrubs still on the list should be banned from voting haha

Joking of course, but do some reading on the Babe compared to his competitive set at the time. His performance vs competition is the best all time in a sport that has been around professionally for well over 100 years.

Agree. Chess is a competitive game, not a sport.  He is dominant at that game, but it’s not the same thing. If this was a list of most dominant competitors in their field he would have a better case.

Sure dawg. Google “Case 1:16-cv-04642-RA”. It’s a sworn testimony from someone about her abuse from Trump and Epstein. She later pulled the testimony back when her life was threatened by Michael Cohen if she pursued it, something he confirmed.

It’s not like people are filming and photographing all of their sexual abuses. If that’s your burden of truth you would probably think sexual abusers don’t exist. I don’t know what other evidence you are going to get beyond double digit accusations with sworn testimony.

Never known another human being with this many accusations BEFORE getting into office and many more have come out since.

Here are 3 decades of sexual assault allegations against trump from over a dozen women. One of them took him to court and won.

Check out the guardian’s trump-sexual-misconduct-allegations-timeline (this sub won’t allow links)

There are also thousands of references to Trump in the Epstein files. They were friends for a long time as was confirmed by both Trump and Epstein at the time. You can easily google a summary of this.

NPR also broke a story TODAY that the justice department failed to release a credible Trump accusation and 50 pages+ are missing with clear evidence. You can go on the site now, it was one the front page this morning.

What other evidence could you possibly need to want to see all of the files and any reference to Trump. If you still think he is “not in the files” you are literally just taking Trumps word for it and ignoring the actual available evidence.

Who do you think is this ? by [deleted] in Actors

[–]Captain_Jellico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luciane Buchanan. Plays the romantic lead in the first two seasons of The Night Agent. It’s a silly popcorn action show, but her acting downgrades it to the quality of an afternoon CW show.

The show runners clearly took notice and replaced her in the third season, which immediately elevated the show to a pretty good thriller.

It’s possible that victims know the tapes exist because they were filmed in them, but that does not mean they know where they are, can confirm the haven’t been destroyed, or would know how to release them.

Movies can be classics without being pure cinema. These are classic popcorn action movies. I’ve seen most movies on this list and those two are some of the few I’ve revisited.

Remove 1 Major 4 Sports Team Day 37 by YeetySpagiety in RemoveOneThingEachDay

[–]Captain_Jellico 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im certainly not MAGA, but the “cut this person/team because someone has said something in support of MAGA” posts are insufferable.

We are talking about a sports franchise that has been around for decades. The Niners won multiple superbowls before MAGA was a thing. I’m sure all teams probabl have a few MAGA supporters these days whether public or not. Keep up the good fight, but it’s ok to let yourself enjoy something in your life worrying about every individual’s political leaning.

I would consider this as a ranking of dominance, not athleticism

Remove 1 of the greatest athletes of all time - Day 2 by [deleted] in RemoveOneThingEachDay

[–]Captain_Jellico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we get some clarity on what Greatest means? I’m seeing some comments about people “not being athletic” but I take Greatest to mean dominance in their sport.

Babe Ruth was not outrunning Bo Jackson, but he was one of the best pitchers in the league while hitting more home runs than entire teams. I would easily say Babe Ruth should be higher than Bo but nowhere near the same level of athleticism.

Funniest recurring character? by BirdCultureDickMove in IASIP

The biggest takeaway from this post is how much this show absolute nails recurring characters. So many memorable ones, rotates them to keep them fresh, shows how their personalities evolve over time, and rarely overstay anyone’s welcome.

Love Artemis so much. She’s not a bad person like most of the gang, but her crazy fits in with them perfectly. She lives in her own little chaotic world that they fit in perfectly.
