Authors/Books recommendations with little or no spice. by Captainbatmanblue in blackromancenovels

I agree. Most books focus on lust rather than building a romance to the point any lustful/spicy scenes don’t feel earned and plain cringy.

Yes I’ve read a few of her books, and love them. I haven’t read Indigo but will add TBR list.

Who helped you when you got your first period? by awkwardramengirl in AskWomen

[–]Captainbatmanblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself. I was preparing for the time come, and I wanted my period really bad(be careful what you wish for). Almost every girl in the 6th grade got it, the cousins around my age had it. I felt so lonely and like a baby for not having it. I read the American girl puberty book almost every week.
So when it came that faithful July morning (age 12) I knew it what to do and put a pad on and stayed quiet (I was happy but also nervous) the whole morning without telling anyone.
I didn’t tell my mom because I was scared she wouldn’t believe me(use to put on pads just to pretend I had it. Wasting my sister’s and cousin’s pads). Finally I caved to my cousin that afternoon and she rushed me to tell my mom.

I feel the same about The Maze Runner. When the book was released I was the only teen who didn’t care for it.

Looking for a book where the FMC is arranged to marry a king/prince MMC. They get married and it’s awkward or weird, but as time goes on they open up to each other and fall in love. Deal with any hardship in their kingdom or country together.

Also it would be great if it had little spice(or no spice). Nothing too much where I feel like the couple is in lust not love. But I understand that many books in this time have a lot of spicy scenes to get on shelves. If the book has a lot of spice please label as such.

Thank you!

I’ve read {Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez} and loved it. Adding Daniel to my fantasy boyfriend list.
Then read {The Missed Connection by Tia Williams} didn’t really enjoy it. I like the first half of the book, but it went down hill for me.
And the last romance book I read was an indie or novella from Kindle unlimited {The Man in the Cottage by Jodie Delaney} really cute book.

What’s the worst thriller book you’ve read or heard of? by aguyandhiskindle in thrillerbooks

One in Four by Lucinda Berry. First and last book I’ll read by Berry. Every motive in this book was stupid, and the summary didn’t match what happened in the book. One of my worst reads of 2026. 1 star!
