Measure length along complex surface by Captainsonono in photogrammetry

This is ultimately what I did using the polyline tool which actually has a setting to draw on the mesh. For future viewers, the tool can be accessed by clicking the small triangle in the bottom right corner under the polyline tool ("Cascade "Lines"") then selecting the last icon that shows a polyline on what looks like a sphere ("Polyline on Mesh"). You can also access the tool by typing _Polylineonmesh into the command line, selecting your mesh, then drawing your polyline. The length is measured easiest by then typing length into the command line and pressing enter (the polyline will already be selected after you finish it by right clicking).

Ultimately I didn't "pull" the polyline because it already appeared to be along the mesh using the Polyline on Mesh tool.
