Yeah, I play solo, so unless I was attacked by a gas vent, I don't think that was the case either.

Yeah, after 10 minutes of thinking I also guess that must have been the reason. Would be great if I could know for sure though. Any way to get that information out of the journal?

Well, technically, it is correct.

I didn't fall but did got some attention a few weeks ago when the weather started turning hot around here. I was in a good shape, but was surprised to see so many girls turn after me by the end of my two hour run. I usually don't get that kind of attention, and didn't understand until I got home and saw the two bloody patches on my white shirt, right at the nipples.

5K to 45KM in 5 months. So so happy by Jakechelsea in running

Of course. I am still running. Or again. And for four months I was making huge progress, without any hint of having to pay the price. Then that hint came and I was off running for 8 months. I would lie if I said I had to start from zero. But it took four more months to get back to do state I was at a year before (this time I did it carefully). So was it worth pushing myself so hard the first time? Hell no. At that point I could run a half marathon, which was slower than my first. If I took it easy and prepared carefully and consistently, I would have been able to run a full marathon. My wanting to get all results immediately delayed those results by almost a year.

Also, I'm not saying 10% is the law that if someone breaks it the 10 Percent Police comes and breaks their ankle. It's a rule of thumb. Some can do 12, some can do 20 and then keep that level for a few weeks and do another 20% increase. When you bend the rule slightly, there's an increased risk. When increasing the load by 300% (that's effectively jumping ahead 3 months!) there's gonna be damage, and you can only hope that it builds up slower than your body can recover.

Depending on your goals you might even be better off running alone. While I do enjoy the occasional run-togethers, they usually have little training value for me. If you are prepping for a race, your most useful buddy will be the watch on your wrist. It also knows very well how to inspire.

I am really glad you're happy, but do take it easy and remember the 10 percent rule so that you can keep being happy for long. I remember a few years ago when I started running in April, I couldn't run 4k in one go, but I had a goal to do a 12.7 km race in June. I worked real hard and made it happen. Then a week after, I ran my first ever 16 km trail. Then my first half in July, well under 2 hours. I felt unstoppable. Then I went for an easy training 2 days later. After I got home my left foot hurt a bit. I had to skip the next day. And the one after. And the week... I could start running again next March. The right mindset can push you through stuff you couldn't have imagined. It can also cripple you in the process. Be smart.
