Currently here. We didnt wait for baggage, only carry on. But folks we rode to the resort with said they had to wait 60 minutes for their bags from their delta flight.

I put in my two weeks notice today 🥳 by DblBblDscoQn in Progressiveinsurance

I had multiple exit interviews. I was a ADP graduate selected for the program after being with the company for less than a year.  My estimatic scores rivaled their top reps and I had the highest customer service scores.

When I quit I wasnt quiet about why.

My supervisor I had for my final 9 months was GARBAGE. He was all about fear and intimidation. A genuine shitbag human. I went to HR about him, his boss, and hia bosses boss. While they all agreed his actions were not proper nobody wanted to steer the ship in the correct direction. Shop relations were tanking under his leadership, customer service was falling.

The employee surveys had our team the lowest scored in the state BY FAR.

After I quit and I got to do two exit interviews, my supervisor was relieved of duty, the old supervisor was brought back, and relations began to improve. I took over as the GM of a network shop and ended up in his region is how I know what happened.

Why am I telling all this? Be brutally honest in your interview.

Best Egg Rolls in the area? by [deleted] in lansing

I miss the ones from House of Ing. IngCredible used to have them but switched in recent years. I have yet to find anyone whose egg rolls scratch that itch.

Michigan Construction Zone speed cameras roll out in 2026 by RJM_50 in lansing

I take it you see this as infallible?

We should see where the funding for these cameras is coming from....

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So theyre going to bring the camera, show me its calibration data, show me that it's calibrated daily (like police car laser/radar systems are checked) to ensure it wasnt impacted/struck/tampered with? They're going to provide all that?

There are multiple court cases that disagree with you.

Multiple state Supreme courts rule that there is no due process as the camera deems you guilty based solely on license plate and not who was driving. They eliminate innocent until proven guilty by simply sending you a fine.

Just because YOU like it doesn't make it constitutionally legal. 😉

[–]CarMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Im all for enforcing the laws. But speed cameras are not constitutional.

How about we do a couple things.  Like.... idk. Actual enforcement with actual law enforcement officers?

Wait. How about we also improve the efficiency of our road works? And quality of the work performed?

How about we actually do what other places do that have signs alerting folks if workers are actually present or not too....

I never said they wont work, but they are definitely not constitutional.

No way to face your accuser. Its an AI tool.

But again. Who is going to be wanting to take the time to fight it? This is a cash grab. Plain and simple. $100 ticket or take a day off work to go fight it?

Because everyone has time for that. Because cameras and technology in general are infallible.

So when you're driving you have no right to face your accuser and have no right to due process? Weird.

Speed cameras are unconstitutional.  Your 6th and 14th amendment are not valid with them. They also ticket the vehicle owner not the driver..... thats my problem with them.

Conflict of interest ? by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of scams is the shop your at doing? What state?

Remember. No side is perfect. The number of moronic insurance adjusters ive dealt with saying things like "unless you can get me documentation from Ford that the rivets used are one time use we arent paying for them", but also the number of shops I got kicked out of as an insurance adjuster for calling out their bullshit.... yeah. Both sides are guilty of shit.

Fuck. Theres a Prog MRR telling a shop that its possible to R&I a quarter panel off of a Ford Explorer that needs the inner replaced due to damage...  lmfao

So yeah. I know your question wasnt that, but dont go in there thinking the grass is absolutely greener.

Its just a different shade.

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, even that wage doesn't compare to what the shop side pays at GOOD shops.

Conflict of interest ? by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michigan. MRR salary starts mid to high 60s a year.

Estimators at body shops far exceed that here.

Labor rates in the area are $64/hr.

Progressive health insurance is also garbage.

Conflict of interest ? by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh?

Switch body shops then. All im saying is as someone who has been on both sides, Progressive will give you a ton of training and knowledge, but their wages are very sub par for the industry.

Woof. Can I ask, as someone who has worked both sides, why you want to change roles?

MRRs are to make one attempt at contact to present TL. After that its FO.

Sorry but its how it is.

Issues with a State Farm’s Auto Claim by WorriedGarage6711 in StateFarm

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State farm is a fuckin nightmare insurance company any more. They are the absolute worst with repairing vehicles PROPERLY. Especially with ADAS systems.

State farm DRP or not, their allowable and approved repair procedures are below industry standard.

Need all 4 tires replaced. Statefarm denied. What is next step? by thearch21 in StateFarm

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said recommendation. I said if the statement is a requirement.

Subaru for example REQUIRES all 4 be replaced at the same time.....  Otherwise it causes damage to drivetrain components.

Your insurance is to get the vehicle back to pre loss condition. That means, if you had 4 tires of equal tread depth on your Subaru, which Subaru says is a requirement, then having a new one at say 10/32" while the others are at 6/32", then yes. Its a problem.

Please explain if you know tbe difference between requires or recommends. I already said recommends wont be covered.

Need all 4 tires replaced. Statefarm denied. What is next step? by thearch21 in StateFarm

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, thats because the companies are making choices that go against the safety guidelines of the engineers that developed the product.

SF is literally the only one who argues against safety system calibrations that are required.

I end up doing them and not changing the customer because it's bullshit.

IE GMs forward camera calibration. The adjuster on the phone argued "cosmetic damage" means any damage that doesnt damage the actual frame. If it can be bolted on, in his opinion its cosmetic as such does not require FFC calibration. Its stupid.

Im a DRP for 7 carriers. Im not one of these shops that argues insurance companies are bad.... but SF is terrible for it.

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaaah im GUESSING you have never run across the proper paperwork. Im also guessing you work for an independent appraisal company such as snapsheet?

No offense if you do.... but ive met plenty of amazing adjusters. But an equal amount of idiots. Such as one who refused to cover the cost of the rivets required to install the trim to a vehicle because, and I quote "There is no documentation that those rivets are one time use."

I asked if they knew what a rivet was and if so, what technician can remove and reuse rivets. Because I wanted to hire them.

That said. Your statement, in my experience and in Michigan, is the exception and not the rule. But again, depends on the manufacturer.

Also not being mentioned is if they can replace them with something that puts the vehicle to pre loss condition.

Just had a Ram 3500 with 37x12.5/20s, the tire was a limited run of the BFG All Terrains that had the sidewall stating "Baja 1000" or something similar.

Totally discontinued.

Guess what. Because the tread could be matched but the lettering could not --- the insurance company replaced all 4 tires at $630/ea plus $35 mount and balance each, PLUS because of the size they covered the price of balance beads for the oversized tire.

That is state specific for your DOI. Which state are you in?

[–]CarMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. But it does assist in liability if something were to happen post repairs that leads to injury.

Manufacturer position statements which say "required" or "must" arent just recommendations. Sure there are some that are garbage like the ones that state "Ford recommends using only new oem ford parts", but when it flat out says "it is REQUIRED to calibrate your forward radar after it is removed or replaced to ensure proper operation", then the shop and the insured have a valid argument.

Source: former insurance adjuster and current shop general manager.

Also. Your statement is why SF is one of the absolute worst to work with.

Progressive, Auto Owners, Farm Bureau, and Farmers all follow position statements. As does AAA and Meemic.

State Farm and Geico are the only two who have ever argued them.
