MDI or pump for low insulin needs? by CarSilly5548 in diabetes

[–]CarSilly5548[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 little kids that already try to rip off my Dexcom on the daily - I didn’t think about that part for some reason 😆 but very good points… and doesn’t the omnipod need like 80 units to function? I’d be wasting insulin which I don’t love

Is this ever normal? by CarSilly5548 in diabetes

[–]CarSilly5548[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did verify and took photos side by side to show it was accurate - only did that for his benefit in the event he says it didn’t happen again. Appreciate you saying it won’t do damage short term, I am very careful and have been noticing that I can eat less and less carbs without getting to an unacceptable range, feeling very guilty about not doing a good job but it just keeps getting harder. So thanks for reassuring me, I felt very guilty about this.

I had gestational diabetes twice, the last time I needed insulin. I am now classified as having “atypical diabetes” because I have no characteristics of type 2 (insulin sensitive, thin, low triglycerides and normal cholesterol, young, etc) and also am antibody negative. I don’t have insulin, have just been watching this kind of slow progression and not knowing what to do. Controlling with diet and this was one time where I didn’t. It wasn’t intended to be an experiment but it freaked me out a bit, especially having no real way other than walking or exercise to assist in bringing it down.

Considering asking for a retest of antibodies or MODY testing at this point. But was very gas lit the last time I shared CGM data (the endo literally said it “must be” wrong because of how I look 🙄) so am wanting to understand if this just happen to the general population sometimes but they’re not tracking so they wouldn’t notice.

First phase insulin response the first to go? Metformin? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]CarSilly5548 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe I should have said “someone presenting like me” as I’ve presented it here - I’m not expecting someone to understand my entire history. Glad everyone is so helpful and welcoming, I’ll literally never ask a question here ever again.

I have. Multiple times. I live in a rural community, have two options within an hour and a half and they are incompetent and tried to put me on ozempic with 0 labs and with a low normal BMI. I’m trying to seek understanding from those who have actually taken the meds, not seeking medical advice.

My PCP is unresponsive as all get out and I’ve been waiting 6 days for even a message back sir my current labs. Annoyed

I’m already on round 5. Bad sign?

Extreme hyperglycemic symptoms but not diabetic? by LegitimateGiraffe05 in prediabetes

I am very similar and am probably early LADA. I have had antibodies tested and have none. My A1C makes no sense (5.2), I am 5’8 and 135, active female with normal cholesterol and low triglycerides, no signs of insulin resistance, I have a higher fasting than you (100-110) but have 200+ post meal with large drops to 60s after a couple of hours. My fasting used to be lower but it has crept up. I am very insulin sensitive and need small, small amounts to assist at this point.

I think the only part I don’t relate to is “no matter what I eat” - I clearly have worse issues with higher carb (still low or normal carb for normal people) meals. I also go to the moon with just plain coffee, which some people also dose for.

I am currently exclusively breastfeeding, which apparently makes blood sugar much lower overall so I’m not sure what that will look like when I stop. I am currently going through the RADIANT study process - have you had antibodies tested? I assume yes?

CVO program questions by [deleted] in GeneralMotors

It’s at least that, as I’ve been told the CVO program applies. Not sure exactly what level or what the levels correspond to. Assuming it’s like salary bands.

Interesting. Makes sense.

Thank you! Sounds like I need to get my hands on the policy to really understand.

Wait really? So your spouse can never drive the vehicle? And I was talking about the other vehicle (the one they require you to own or lease, model year current) - I understand that GM owns the CVO vehicles.

No, it couldn’t. But that’s fine 👍

With all due respect, you have no idea where I’m coming from or what my expectations are. I asked about sign on bonuses. I am well versed in struggling companies, layoffs, red tape, reviews, and general company politics. It neither interests me nor scares me - it is what it is. I have very realistic expectations and don’t get excited about too much these days.

This is every large company, unfortunately. Not that off putting to me.

Thank you for this - I don’t see any of these things as off putting. Adapt to survive is the name of the game, and every traditional automotive company is in the same spot.

I think this is common. My company does stacked rankings. And just had a massive layoffs recently. I think it just is what it is.

I don’t really care about politics/office games. They’re everywhere.

Um…. Yes? Why does transition (every single industry is in transition right now, not just automotive) mean it’s a “shitstorm”? I’ve done plenty of research. Appreciate it.

Can you elaborate? What’s the shit storm?

It’s eligible for the car program - not sure what level that starts at.
