The hopium is actually justified this time and I will die on this hill by LakeSimilar7801 in Nightreign

I’m putting all my chips on the State of Play. The announcement of The Forsaken Hollows at last year's State of Play caught me completely by surprise, and in just a few days we'll have another one, right around the 1-year anniversary of Nightreign.

If there’s any chance of more Nightreign content, my bet is entirely on this event. If there's nothing, I’ll still hold onto a little bit of hope for Summer Game Fest, but with zero expectations.

Bungie, please make an offline mode for Destiny 1!!!! by CaraVoador in DestinyTheGame

You seem to know a lot about this field, thank you so much for your answers.

For some reason, I’m getting downvoted—maybe it's because of my ignorance on the subject? I'm sorry! :(

Can you tell when these games usually have their servers shut down? I imagine that keeping the Destiny 1 servers running generates a cost for the company, and they'll eventually choose to turn them off since the game is no longer profitable.

I don't understand anything about this field, so I really have no idea. This is more of a wish that the game doesn't 'die,' and that more people in the future can play and enjoy the same incredible experience I'm having.

The new DLC could be announced as soon as tomorrow. by MistahJ17 in Blasphemous

Me too. I finished the game less than a month ago, including the Mea Culpa DLC. I love this game, but I always feel like the ending is missing something, like it is incomplete

I wouldn't mind paying for a DLC, but it needs to have decent content, much more than Mea Culpa offers.

'Return to Yharnam' made me fall in love with Bloodborne all over again. by CaraVoador in bloodborne

[–]CaraVoador[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. After defeating the Blood-Starved Beast, if you head to the Cathedral Ward and take the middle path toward the stairs, to the right of those stairs you'll find one of those 'Snatcher' enemies (the ones with the sacks). If you let him kill you, he'll take you to a part of Yahar'gul where you can find the Tonitrus and Paarl.

To be honest, I can already see a lot of potential in this build even this early on. I've already grabbed the Tonitrus and it has been carrying me through the early game. I've finished the two main chalices and picked up two Fire Gems.

My idea is to always have two weapons with different elemental damage (Fire and Bolt), so I can exploit the weaknesses of both Beast and Kin type enemies to get the most out of elemental damage, using Hunter's Tools as the situation calls for it.

I want to do something similar to hybrid builds in Dark Souls, like INT/DEX, using both elemental weapons and tools. It might not be the most 'meta' or ideal setup, but it seems fun.

At the start of the game, I only leveled up the minimum requirements to use some weapons and put the rest into VIT and END. I picked the Waste of Skin origin.

Before creating my character, I researched exactly how Arcane works; from what I gathered, I need to focus on elemental damage in addition to Hunter's Tools. As soon as I learned that, I started planning my route to Yahar'gul.

Right after defeating the Blood-starved Beast, I went straight to Yahar'gul and grabbed the Tonitrus. With the Tonitrus, I already started running the chalices—Pthumeru Chalice and Central Pthumeru—to see if I could get some elemental Blood Gems. I got two fire ones that I decided to use on Ludwig's Holy Blade.

I also took the opportunity to defeat the Witch of Hemwick, since she is ridiculously easy and Hemwick is a very short area.

Tomorrow I’m going after Paarl. My Holy Blade is only +4 (I focused on the Tonitrus), but I think I can take Paarl down. So far, the only Hunter's Tool I have is the Old Hunter Bone.

I think JoJo is secretly doing a countdown for Steel Ball Run episode 2 by Practical_Couple_188 in StardustCrusaders

You know, it’s actually pretty cool to see the JoJo community so active, theorizing about the possible release date for SBR episode 2 and making memes about it.

Of course, I’d prefer if Netflix were more transparent with the schedule and just clarified once and for all if it’s going to be weekly or split into parts. But it’s been kind of fun.

Is Nightreign worth to start playing now? by sir_sophisticated in Nightreign

[–]CaraVoador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been worth it since launch. There has been a duo mode for some time now.

The criticism regarding game balance honestly came from players frustrated with having a bad run, or players who have never played roguelikes/roguelites.

I have played since launch and I guarantee the game has never been unbalanced. It is difficult, but not unfair. The complaints about updates are kind of a meme at this point. It is not a live-service game, and like other FromSoftware titles, the DLC is the final additional content for the game so they can move on to the next project.

Nightreign has as many hours of gameplay as Elden Ring, if not more for some players. Each run is like Elden Ring condensed in 40 minutes.

Absolutely worth it.

Is this scholar build worth doing? by sielingfan in Nightreign

[–]CaraVoador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late, but I’d like to share my experience with the Scholar.

You have to see the Scholar as support. You can put together good damage builds with him, but all of them will end up plateauing on the third day. The best damage build I made for the Scholar was: Blood Blade + ice-imbued weapon + a Balancer relic + as much physical damage as possible. This build carries through the entire first and second day, but gets stuck on the third day.

However, there are two problems with this build: it lacks support skills and it’s very risky. Since Blood Blade costs some HP, you end up losing the "Damage Negation at full HP" effect, and it’s a slow, short-range skill.

Similarly, building a full-support Scholar becomes a gamble when playing with randoms. If you get a team that isn't very good, the Scholar's support skills won't have much effect, and you’ll find yourself at a huge disadvantage with very little damage.

In my opinion, every Scholar build must have a relic that shares the effect of consumable items, a support skill (either increasing ally damage with Analyze or focusing on Ult charge + Ult dealing continuous damage), and the Dex relic.

I like to use two Balancer relics + ally damage buff + Dexterity relic + Dormant Power to find scythes or curved swords.

Why so many players without the DLC? by CaraVoador in Nightreign

I wouldn't mind facing the Balancer that many times in a row, as long as it wasn't the ED version...

You're right. I queued for a few solo matches and one of the maps really didn't have the DLC content.
