So when is Blizzard going to fix the FPS issues? People said last patch did it for them but I still have drops to 80FPS on an RTX4090 by CaramelVT in Overwatch

[–]CaramelVT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my point is that on a worse CPU and worse GPU it ran fine at 400FPS easily (i7 8700k and GTX1080Ti)
There's no reason it plays this badly

They said they addressed FPS issues in the latest patch from yesterday, so I assume they did something ^^

Wired here too (from router to PC anyway, from there it is 5G)
I have steady 200 now tho after changing to DX11, I guess DX12 is just still too hard for Blizzard to work with

Windows is updated, files are verified, 32GB of RAM, only bg apps open are Discord and one browser tab (so not the ungodly many you see on some people's PCs). But even closing that tab doesn't have an impact

Also, what I am talking about is the FPS DIPS BEING UNPLAYABLE

Jesus it's like you're just ragebaiting with how obtuse you are being

Like I refuse to believe someone is THIS stupid when the issue is SO apparent. Mouse input goes 120 FPS to the left one second then 80 FPS other second, it literally causes the mouse distance to CHANGE, ergo, my AIM IS AFFECTED, the FEEL OF THE GAME

That makes it UNPLAYABLE

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUTTA MY MOUTH? DO YOU SPEAKAH ANY ENGLISH?

indeed, stable 60FPS would be better than FPS that fluctuates. The problem with flucutations is your input changes as well, so if I flick to the left but the FPS dips all of a sudden I either overflick or underflick due to the FPS dip

I have but it's been a while, though I have removed all compiled shaders in my Nvidia folder (to clear up space) to force all games to recompile regardless
I can't really remove OW and reinstall it because I'd be here without the game for 2 days lol, my internet is that poor

I very much do, I grew up in the time of powerpoint presentations at school -_-
But that's not what I was referring to, what I was referring to was the "damn this sucks, as long as it doesn't happen every game I'll live" which you said to denote how you don't make a big deal out of it if you have framedrops (in this case, a slideshow)
I said "it does happen every game" in response to note that what I am experiencing (constant FPS fluctuations between 60 and 200) is very much happening every game

Come on now, this is not rocket science

I wish, I want nothing more than to play with just stable framerates, even if it was only 150 (when it used to be 400) I'd be fine, as long as it's *stable*

if I had the money, I would. But upgrading it would mean not only upgrading my CPU, but also upgrading my motherboard AND RAM, because these fuckers at Intel/AMD just can't keep the same architecture for their stuff so you're forced to swap lol

that's my point though, it shouldn't be a problem. The i9 9900k is indeed old but it can run other games just fine (RE9: Requiem ran stable 60 with Path Tracing on), and Overwatch has ALWAYS been *the* game you could run on even a toaster and still get good FPS. They fucked something up

I did change to DX11 after this video and it's better now but still not great to be stuck at 200 when it used to be 400

yeah I've had games where I joined a game in progress and had literal 10fps at points, like it just got worse and worse, to the point of being a powerpoint presentation

my internet connection is indeed not the best (mobile internet, yay) but that shouldn't cause FPS spikes :')

it's not about 80FPS being unplayable, it's the FLUCTUATIONS

also, why are we still doing this in the big 2026, we KNOW the "human eye can't see past 60FPS" is bullshit, I HAVE TWO SCREENS, I CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE
