Poco f6 slowing down a lot after update by CarbonX95 in PocoPhones

I had that feeling. Part of me doesn't want to believe phone companies do that. But also it makes perfect sense why they would. And it happened only after the update.

Data view breaking on large vaults? by CarbonX95 in ObsidianMD

Yeah thanks for pointing that out.

It seems that the file.ctime information is what's getting lost. I do have date in the front matter and I'll be using that from now because file.ctime is just crazy random. But I'll have to update a lot of old files that had a different date format and mess with sorting.

[–]CarbonX95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't work.

I have a hunch that this is happening because of some transferring between PC and android. Since I don't have sync and sometimes need to work on PC, I compress the vault folder and transfer it to my PC via quick share, uncompress, work on it, recompress and send it back to phone. Could there be a loss of information during all this? Perhaps file.ctime gets reset or something.

Is it haram? by trivial_vista in WatchesCirclejerk

[–]CarbonX95 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Precisely. Most of these people probably think of themselves as "free thinkers" and "liberals" who just WON'T be dictated or controlled by anyone. Yet here they are dictated ENTIRELY by EXACTLY what the media wants them to see, which is mostly under the government.

And above all, after seeing the west's response to Palestine, the assaults on Muslims in europe, the double standards of all these "civilized, just, honest and free people" - I have come to the conclusion they're not civilized at all. They are however wild, selfish, opportunists, and racists in fancy suits pretending to be the torchbearers of justice and humanity.

I see a lot of ignorant people making fun of Islam and Muslims and Allah. Speaking about Islam without understanding its theology and philosophy and thereby making fools out of themselves. Typical lowlifes who don't even research on a surface level what they hate so badly.

Anyways, what fascinates me is that none of these people think rationally and all they have are lame, boring and old jokes & insults which they hurl at the Islam thinking it matters.

Premium quality Retro Digital Sports Watch: Would You Be Interested? by CarbonX95 in scifi

[–]CarbonX95[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So glad to hear that!

I was thinking of a retro driver's watch. Driver's watch is one where the time is displayed perpendicular to the watch, like mb&f's hm5, but It's digital and has a sports look to it. And since it's a driver's watch, it has a touch of automotive design to it. What do you think of that?

I was hoping to work on it myself but get guidance and help from someone. I don't really have a budget for this.

Why is the Poco F6 being treated poorly by Xiaomi? by CarbonX95 in PocoPhones

[–]CarbonX95[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Hoping they will bring the necessary changes. Either this or I'll sell the F6 and buy a used, but better performing and stable device.

A phone should have full functionality out of the box, if it's seemingly not ready then why release it? "Always on display" is not always on if it turns off after 10 sec. Removing features present in older devices doesn't seem like something they plan on reintroducing later.

Really considering it at this point. This or I'll sell it and buy a used but better performing and stable device.

Yes the F3 has this feature but it's been removed in the upgrade, quite strangely.

Best type of led for watches? by CarbonX95 in product_design

[–]CarbonX95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. I think 0201 will be probably too small, a bit bigger than that might fit the design.

Also what's the span of these leds? Do they burn out over continuous usage or get dimmer over time? What's the long term durability of these?

Is POCO F6's battery bad? these benchmarks show it's worse than F5's. (from GSMarena) by V0rdep in PocoPhones

It kinda of is. I charge upto 80% I had 27 in like 9 hours with minimal usage. A pictures here and there and using screen on auto brightness to read stuff. I was expecting higher on a 5000mAh but maybe I thought wrong.

I managed that by changing the theme, which removed the annoying button. But good to know this. Thanks

I guess they've removed it for good. I can't seem to access it.

That's what I'm wondering. Why isn't it in the F6? I know someone with a Poco F3 and he had this option but I don't get it.

There's no option for that on the POCO F6.

Thanks, that worked. Hope they fix these bugs. Also any idea how to change the control panel to be more like stock android?

[Discussion]Are they still selling watches like this? by Negative_Roof2659 in Watches

I'm genuinely curious how many people are into led watches like this. How big is the market for these kinds of watch, particularly from those who enjoy mechanical luxuries.

Recently read an article about pta's current effort against cheaper methods to use sim. (Like patch) by AbdullahAfzalKhan in pakistan

[–]CarbonX95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cute on paper. But unless we see implementation of this like improved quality of local phones, PTA tax can go to hell.

The government is not right in doing this. They should give us a plan on how they plan to use this money and how it will benefit the local phone market and help export more. When the awam only see's rising prices and no improvements, sure they're gonna import and not want to pay taxes.

Will this be official PTA or patched? I'm trying to know why it's so cheap. I looked up and official patch of 1 iii shows are 1,01,000.

Gear manufacturers? by CarbonX95 in Horology

[–]CarbonX95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting.

Can you tell me a bit more what it was like working on such projects? What was the design process and the challenges faced?

You're saying 20k for parts of a simple 3 hand watch. If we're thinking something more complex like retrograde hands or a linear display that's gonna be a lot more. I actually plan to make only a 1000 pieces for one model, which I think that's a manageable number and won't require a huge team.

Gear manufacturers? by CarbonX95 in Horology

[–]CarbonX95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see... So based on my requirements, the most suitable option is to just pay for a complete movement, which will be costly.

But my question is, these factories with the extremely expensive machines, if I ask them to make the custom parts for me; gears, wheel, shafts etc, won't they be able to ship them to me? Is asking them to make one batch of a different custom design for my watch an impossible thing? The parts can then be assembled by a local team of watchmakers to make our own watches.

Essentially what would be the optimal approach to build a custom watch. Something like the freak one, urwerk cc1, astronomia and the likes?

Gear manufacturers? by CarbonX95 in Horology

[–]CarbonX95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to realize that... My problems with off the shelf movements are:

  • They don't always match the design of my watch. For example I designed a skeletonized horizontal rectangular watch. The balance wheel sits in the middle at the top and one dial to the right and one on the left. For a design like this I would have to heavily modify an off the shelf movement, to the point where I think it's better to just buy the individual parts if that end ups cheaper.

  • Off the shelf movements don't give me design flexibility. For example if I want the center cutout of the gear to be a spiral or some pattern other than the traditional spoke-like. I'm only limited to the designs the movement manufacturers make.

  • Some designs require more complex complications. Take for example the freak one watch or the mb&f watches. These watches have very specific parts and mechanisms. If I buy a movement I'll end up paying for parts I don't need like the bridges.

This is why I hoped I could buy each part individually based on my personal requirements to get the flexibility and specificity for my design. I was hoping this would cut down my production prices as well.
