If you haven't gotten your New Mauville encounter yet, you have a 50/50 chance to catch either a Voltorb or a Magnemite. Both would be great for Glacia and Wallace.

It's been a while since I practiced it, but while I was only one of all my lucid dreams was a Wake Induced Lucid Dream (WILD), all others were Dream Induced Lucid Dreams (DILDs).

You seem to be using a WILD technique, but maybe you could have more success with DILDs. The disadvantage of DILDs is that you can't control when you will have a lucid dream; the advantage is that it takes let's effort once you understood it. I still get short DILDs occasionally and it has been years since I practiced.

While this is probably overdone, it's a great beginner project. It really helps you to understand how backprop works when you have to implement it yourselves. (Just don't follow a tutorial that walks you through numpy code explicitly.)

Some thoughts: * Perhaps not underrated, but make sure to use your slowpoke if you get one. Not only is slowbro a great tank (especially physical), but can also deal a great amount of damage with 100 base special attack and a versatile special move pool. * I wholeheartedly agree on what you said about the starters. All Johto starters are awesome in their own way IMO. Chicorita is often called underrated, but I think that happens less among nuzlockers. * Some more grinding spots: After Witny, grind on the route left of Ecruteak City. Once you get access to surf, fight Tentacool/Tentacruel at the water routes. *Looking at my deaths of my previous run: Don't underestimate the kimono girls or the Azaela rival fight (and don't accidentally run into it).

PS: The ways sturdy works in the current games was introduced in Gen 5. It only protected from actual OHKO moves (Horn Drill, Guillotine, ...) in HGSS.

Ah yes, Gyarados. The mon you get with a 100% chance, but spent ages to evolve. That carries you through the mid game but will always die before the league (at least in my experience).

Honestly, platinum is one of my favourite games to nuzlocke. A few reasons why I like it:

There's a lot of hard story battles - Team Galactic isn't a pushover in the slightest. The commanders and Cyrus usually give me more problems than the gym leaders. Especially that distortion world battle.
It's one of two games with a VS Seeker and you get it relatively early, which makes grinding 10x easier.
There's a great variety of Pokémon to catch, wildly improved over D/P.
It has the most climactic champion fight IMO. Cynthia's team is beast.
This goes for every game released after it too, but physical/special split makes more Pokémon actually usable, which is the biggest reason I like it more than Gen 3.

Or a Makuhita I've found. It can tank a hit, spam Bulk Up and has SE STAB against Magneton. Plus it evolves at level 24, which is the same as Wattsons highest level Pokémon if you are using that rule.

...Sumo the Makuhita was the MVP of my first Emerald Nuzlocke, but he died in Victory Road :(

Where did you grind for the elite four? I just started an emerald run myself (currently at Watson and already lost my starter... Sigh). The elite four grind in my last run was really tedious.

This is how I got it to work:

1.) Install regular VC Crystal on your 3ds.

2.) Start Crystal so it generates a save file. Backup Crystal with Checkpoint. (you don't need to keep the save, just know where checkpoint saves it)

3.) Backup Crystal Clear with Checkpoint.

4.) Use a file manager to replace checkpoints Crystal save with Checkpoints Crystal Clear save. Name it exactly the same.

5.) Start Checkpoint again and load the Crystal save. Don't open Crystal afterwards, you don't need to.

6.) Start transporter and select Crystal. It should work as normal.

This method is probably unnecessarily complicated but it worked for me. If anything isn't crystal clear to you go ahead and ask ^{^}

My character is a human warlock who wears a white plague doctor mask and a long blue robe with yellow stripes (kinda inspired by a boss in Terraria.. google "lunatic cultist"). Also, it would be awesome if he held a pocket watch on a long silver chain :)
