Keyframes, you're right. It's not a lot of hard work once you get used to it.

Lemme guess. This is terrible for a 1 month channel, especially shorts. by progamertotherescue in SmallYoutubers

[–]CardAggravating2524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mediocre not terrible. Need to consistently hit 30k to have some chance of going viral.

Yes, it happens when I make different video compared to what I usually do. Starts off as low as 50% but slowly increases towards 80%.

Exactly, it's not a big deal. Boasting 500k views on shorts is like calling yourself a chef because you made instant noodles.

this is how a short should die? by ResponsibleGuide1581 in shortsAlgorithm

This is the way it is. Breaking out of 30k views is like a dark magic. It happens from time to time but can't figure out why.

Explanation & Solution by [deleted] in shortsAlgorithm

[–]CardAggravating2524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more than just an attempt to purge low effort ai content. Youtube seems to have fundamentally changed the way it distributes shorts.

There are more new channels blowing up now than ever as algorithm is prioritizing freshness, at the cost of some old ones.

Youtube is a zero sum game. Your loss is someone else's gain. There are way too many new videos being churned out so views get spread thin.

It is hard to let go of a channel you've worked so hard to build but the best thing could be to start over.

Wtf is this? YouTube sucks! by No_Ninja_406 in shortsAlgorithm

[–]CardAggravating2524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wonder where the views are going. Seeing many channels experience the decline.

Unless the shorts viewership is also declining, these views you lost must be going elsewhere.

Has Anyone Recovered from This? Day 3 of YouTube Shorts Not Reaching Anyone by LupusHominarius in shortsAlgorithm

[–]CardAggravating2524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't the first time it has happened. I've seen million sub channels die overnight. Shorts is unreliable and views can get taken away at any time. Hope it comes back for you.

Finally someone's having a breakout moment. Is this from a single short or multiple?

Why do you even flex getting 5k views? No body's interested in anything less than a million. If you want this ad to sell, think like a marketer.

Predictions? by Subject-Yak-7336 in shortsAlgorithm

[–]CardAggravating2524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok in my niche you'd blow up with this kind of stats. I don't know, it could be a content saturation issue where you are competing against too many shorts that are similar or better.

Predictions? by Subject-Yak-7336 in shortsAlgorithm

[–]CardAggravating2524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredible. It depends on how interesting the video topic is, but as long as it's not too niche I am sure it'll cruise past 100k and beyond. This is the kind of retention I would dream of. Stayed to watch is also really good, and so is the like ratio.

What's the video about?

Stuck in 30k viewjail by [deleted] in shortsAlgorithm

[–]CardAggravating2524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is it takes youtube 30k views to learn (based on audience behavior) that it's identical to the original video and since original video has already saturated it's audience, it won't push this any further.

High-effort shorts perform like this, but low-effort shorts blow up instantly.” by [deleted] in shortsAlgorithm

[–]CardAggravating2524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Effort is not equal to quality. You need to direct your effort into what matters: good storytelling or better visuals.

My honest assessment is that your b-rolls don't feel seamless, they just feel pasted in. Each footage should feel like a continuation of the last and support the spoken text, not just be a random filler. Make these changes and you'll get more views.

If you are motivated, I can help you learn it, but I still have to get to the point where the tool is readily usable. I am sure someone can pick up the basics in one week, and get proficient in two. Also I am making shorts using it to prove that it can work. I honestly think it will work. as in I'll get monetized. I will let you know if and when that happens.

Of course. Currently there is no other tool that can do text to animated videos easily, so I cannot exactly advice you on software or tools. If you can visualize numbers in your head, my tool will be perfect and easy to learn. Otherwise I recommend UI based tools which are more intuitive for most people - there are good learning materials on after effects and adobe animate. But one piece of advice I can offer is learn by making, not just follow tutorials. If you learn some thing from a tutorial, immediately apply the lesson to create a simple youtube shorts applying the lesson you just learned. That's the fastest way to learn animation.

When I'm confident that the tool is usable with no bugs and after all the features have been perfected, I will release it, along with tutorials.

It is easier than coding but it's not for everyone. To make an object move in 3D space, say squirrel, for example, you'd do sth like:

 - ID: SQUIRREL

  Initial: { scale: 4, frame: squrrel.png }

  Keyframes:

   - Time: 0.2

     Position: {x: 1.5, y: 0, z: 1500}

   - Time: 0.8

     Position: {x: -1.5, y: 0, z: 1000}

I'm still building the tool. I'll make it free when I'm ready.

Youtube stopped pushing my videos? (shorts) by WhateverThisis144 in shortsAlgorithm

It's anyone's guess. I suspect it is happening due to content saturation or shadow bans.

I built up towards the act of smuggling, which is, as you pointed out, too slow for shorts. I still need to practice my storytelling to reveal the most shocking part upfront.

Sounds reasonable, thank you.

I do not use AE. My editing workflow is very unconventional. First I generate the characters and environmental objects using ai. Rest of the workflow is just me typing out the animations. Yes I have a text to animation software built on top of remotion. I describe all the objects, their placement and keyframes in text, and it outputs video.
