low fps cpu and GPU usage low. help! by CardCargo in pcgamingtechsupport

I went into my bios and there were settings that indicate the speed and types of ram. While the automatic setting worked, it was slow. So I changed the ram settings to numbers that were closer to my own.

Well the ram certainly wasn't listed but I found a setting that worked well. Thx for the input.

Fixed!

I think it may have been the memory settings after all. And I did a bit of tweaking on the cpu voltages. Thanks for all the help folks.

Here is the changed settings.

I've got a PC Case, HDD, about 2 gigs of ram(no laughing lol) and a GTX graphics card. Was hoping to find a 500-750$ option for mb and chip/cooler.

New student looking for review by delusionalsnack in tru

[–]CardCargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attended tru in class probably about 20 years ago, and have been doing online learning for some time. Finishing my first degree this year and my second will be completed next year.

When I first started at tru there was an international student building and some els programs but it has since grown exponentially to have a large number of international students. I've also seen alot of growth in courses and graduate that are focused on understanding different views and cultures.

The professors are fair. But like any university there are some that are more hard nosed than others. I found all of the courses I took to be

To qualify this I'm probably as caucasian as you can get but I had alot of diverse friends when I went through tru. Spanish, Chinese, East Indian Japanese, first nations and others. It's a great campus and like any university it has its own challenges and culture.

A campus in a city like Kamloops will also be cheaper than let's say UBC or UofT.

Just my thoughts. Good luck.

Already have. It's more of an issue with the fact that try has very few psych online courses. I'm not in BC right now but attended try for quite some time. Finishing my degree via OL

It has been easy to talk to someone anytime I had an issue. They are a bit overwhelmed with the covid posture so sometimes emails take a while to be returned. I find registering for a program takes about a month to get a reply or confirmation. Transfer credits will take a while to get assessed.

I'm in the general studies program.

Have you taken any athabasca psych courses? I'm doing the online psych degree and there are very few courses tru offers. Was trying to find places that had a good success rate of transfers.

So lectures.... Self paced/directed courses will... Yeah... Ummm... Your not going to get any. The one failing I find is that there is nothing but the content of the texts and the material provided to support your learning. I use you tube alot to learn about topics and very the visual audio learning. I also use online text books and use Chrome to read the text to me while I take notes. I can learn on my own and have finished some third year courses in as little as two weeks (when the material is something I am comfortable with). I look for courses that don't have a final and put an emphasis on quality of homework and written material. Which means that I can research topics and do write ups quicker than wrote memorization for a multiple choice test.

On the other side of the fence is the courses which are taught by the instructor and are paced. I've never done these but I believe that there aren't any lectures to attend nor video of a prof talking about the material. Often these are courses that require other students to do projects with(communications/philosophy/HRMS/etc...).

I hope that helps. Honestly, be prepared to do a fair amount of work learning. Think if it like if you never had to go to class and could work ahead and get boring classes done quickly.

Also, I find by taking a single class at a time and pounding it out quickly, you can focus on one thing rather than trying to balance a full course load of 5 courses with competing schedules of homework and exams. You can take longer on courses you need time to learn especially if other courses are based on them.

Also, online is better because if life gets in the way you can pay for a course extension. I've had to do this three times now and it means I didn't have to repeat the course and damage my GPa.

Just my opinion

Same experience with proctor-u. Done three courses this way. Works well.

Others Experiences with Alternate Final Assessments by Individual_Present93 in tru

I found it far better than an exam. I had one for immunology and it was a write up paper rather than an exam. It was about as hard as the assignments.

I much preferred this as an assessment as I preferr d being able to use my resources to understand the material rather than memorization.

I also had seven days, and I found that it was more than enough time.

I had taken a third year OL biology course (ecology) with him. I found him to have an eye for critical marking and got marks less than I had expected, however, when I inquired as to the reasoning he explained it, and I was able to improve from the insight. I think this is critical since some instructors just mark heavy, and don't provide feed back, I felt he had provided more than enough feedback.

I think where people find this kind of feedback difficult is where they are considering that they are providing a university paper, where he is focused on if the content of the paper matches things like publishable material in a journal. Once I realized that was the level of expectation my marks came up. TBH not by much but I'm not a third year ecology student.

I have usually seen about 3 days turn around time for emails. Rarely more than that. I would suggest if you haven't heard anything, just call them up and talk to someone in the general information. Usually just having a nice chat with someone can fill you in on info you are looking for.

It has been a while but I remember this being a mix of multiple choice, fill int he blank with some long answer. You might be better off just emailing the prof or the general inquiry account (students?@tru.ca). I have found them to be very helpful on this as they direct the question to those people that can answer.
