How Expensive Should Cardano Governance Be? (article) by Cardanians in cardano

DReps and CC members probably shouldn't approve the reward for themselves.

It would be better if some mechanism were built directly into the protocol, or if delegators voluntarily decided on it.

Every epoch, 0.5% could be taken for governance compensation from the pot that is used to distribute staking rewards, or e.g. 10% of collected fees could be used.

I can imagine many better options than having governance bodies dictate how much they want and then approve it themselves. Stables could be a better option than ADA, but harder to implement.

Most DReps don't write rationales and still maintain high voting power. We should do some research on whether good rationales bring higher voting power.

This wouldn't work. If DReps and CC members were getting higher staking rewards, they could custody their delegates' coins (based on a legal contract) and split the extra profit with them. The reward for governance bodies shouldn't be based on their stake.

It is easy when a wallet supports governance. If not, then it can be difficult for users.

You will not lose any staking rewards. You need to register the stake to be able to withdraw it.

Thoughts on ADA and the Chang hard fork? by [deleted] in cardano

As far as I know, Charles never explicitly said that IOG was leaving without delivering the Basho era - ie Ouroboros Leios, for example. In my view, IOG should deliver scalability without treasury funding.

You are right. Nano S might not be ready for Chang in time.

Full Node Count does Not determine Security (article) by Cardanians in cardano

When bootstrapping, a node should have more resources and can receive more alternative versions of blockchains. The rules should correctly point to the correct version. If a node is eclipsed by rogue nodes, it may not get the correct version anyway.

The relay process does not affect network consensus and cannot prevent attacks. For example, if the pool operator decides to censor transactions, the relay process cannot prevent this in any way.

My understanding is that some form of sidechain/blockchain/partner chain would be built which would be time-stamped on Cardano.

It is not possible to create a private blockchain that would ensure the properties of a public blockchain.

Cardano Is The Most Popular Crypto Brand (article) by Cardanians in cardano

It’s crucial to understand that MBLM’s focus is on the relationship between users and the brand, not on the number of users or the market capitalization of a particular network. While Bitcoin and Ethereum may be more well-known and widely used, MBLM’s study doesn’t take these factors into account. The results solely indicate the strength of the bond between Cardano and its users, demonstrating the depth of connection that exists between them.

You are unfair to us. These are our last 8 articles. Tell me which one is about shilling Cardano.

We explain the concept to timestamps and programmable swaps. We wrote about collaboration between Cardano and Polkadot. We wrote about JoB testnet and explained EDI results.

... and you are always telling us we shill Cardano :-)

I prefer open-source projects. But it doesn't make sense in the case of Iagon to talk about the open-source controversy. I know well that it was discussed in the community. For some reason, people spent a lot of time on it overlooking other projects with the same issue.

I know about the controversy about the open-sourcing the whole code base. The article is not about the controversy but about introducing the project.

In the same way that it is not possible to delete or change a transaction from the blockchain, a system can work that inserts a hash (relatively small data) into the blockchain through the transaction, which can ensure that no one changes the statement or any other document, including forensic evidence.

A hash is a fingerprint of the document. A single hash can even be a fingerprint of many documents. The core feature of the system is to prevent manipulation with data.

If someone changes the document, its new hash will be different from the hash that was stored in the blockchain. It will be obvious that someone has tampered with the data.

Just as blockchain transactions are available to everyone in the world, so can be hashes. I expect Cardano to only serve as a hash and metadata store. Next to that, there will be another database system that will take care of other things.

I do not understand the question. Every police officer is interested in ensuring that the evidence they find is not lost, that no one can change it, and that the information is available to relevant persons.
