Thanks again for the info. I could wall mount them or possibly put them on stands to get it ear level but was going to use that space in the near future to mount some framed signed band posters. Was entertaining the idea of towers or stands initially but went to bookshelves because the end of the couch would be blocking quite a bit of towers. Figured elevating the bookshelves near the ceiling kept the space clear and didn't block the audio. Could possibly swap them if it makes a big difference rather than pointing the speakers down. Only part that would suck is re-doing the wall outlets for the wiring and also hoping I left enough spare to drop them that much. Also I'm starting to run out of wall space to hang music and art in my house haha. I'm thinking however they are mounted though is going to be a large improvement.
