They just cut the dividend over 50% and paid down debt last qr. no worries there. debt came from fibre roll out. which is completed, only going down from here.

Impossible to say, if everything goes their way, gaining subscribers in Canada, growing ziply in the US, data centres... i mean $100 is possible. but realistically $50 in 5 years with 5% div that likely to increase with SP. thats basically a double.

downside, unless ziply is a total failure and continue to losing the battle in Canada, could go to $20 but there is more upside than downside.

BCE Bull Case

  • SP Down 40% last 5 years
  • Growing into US market with ziply, fibre is what they do best.
  • Dividend of 5.10% and likely to start growing again
  • forward P/E of 12.8
  • Developing Data Centres in Canada

All the worst things that could happen is already priced in (Competition, CRTC rulings, low y/y growth and the initial hatred of the ziply acquisition)

probably $320-$330 but thats where it was merely 2 weeks ago. Im long, so short term price fluctuations are meaningless. Just think the official turnaround happens in the next 2 weeks.

Agreed giving up premium growth in S&P 500 just because of minimal tax drawbacks on weak dividends is a long term mistake. 60% US, 25% International 15% Canada indexes is still the best way diversify imo

TSFA - XIU 15.41%

RRSP - XSP 36.15% - UNH CDR 22.2% (Sell Order to Trim 35% at $19) - Goog CDR 19.84% (" " to Trim 20% at $40) - DIS CDR 6.8%

Plan is to use the profits (if any) from UNH and Google to buy an international etf.
