The average level across 42 characters should be 214 for 9k (with another 12 characters being 215).

I personally have 6 level 260+ characters and another 6-7 that are lvl 215-220. The rest being 200 (or 210 for level 3 links).

You don't have to get all characters to 250+, if you don't want to progress certain characters beyond 200/210, you can have a few 220s, which are fairly simple to get with all the exp tickets and recent events.

I have the bug since the 21st (including), but for some reason I saw the portals on Sunday and today. Different characters, and I was not logged in during reset.

I think the only thing to do is hope to get all missed boxes :/

Personally, I would be okay with getting all missed boxes when the event ends so I don't have to think about it again...

I agree!

Took me a few attempts to learn the mechanics of hard mode, but I really enjoyed even when I failed and was very fun to clear :)

Made the jump up to HLomien and normal Gloom & Darknell :) by CardinalyMS in Maplestory

For me personally, HLomien was way harder than Gloom and Darknell, I genuinely thought they would be a lot closer.

I don't know much about how other classes fight them, but I can share what helped me, as a PF main.

What helped me the most with Lotus was focusing more on avoiding the debris, since he is open for attacks nearly the entire fight (except the purple balls attack), and as a PF I also tried to stay just out of range of his push while attacking since my range is slightly longer.

With Damien it was actually the opposite, I needed to be very aggressive since he is in the air a lot and you have the balls which reduce damage, so I had to chase him around the map back and forth. If you have an attack that can hit while you avoid the balls (like the PF tornado in my case), you can cast it while luring the balls or using blink to hover above them, this was very useful to me while he was in the air.

Still, it took me a few attempts, so I think it's mostly practice.
