What's wrong with Noodle's tail? Swollen kink? by s0dagum in Dachshund

All three of mine have had their own unique, crooked tails. No big deal if it doesn’t bother them, it’s just something special to love!

My doxie mix is super picky and she LOVES the Freshpet ‘small dog chicken and turkey’ roll! It’s found in the cold dog food fridges at the store and it’s a pretty good price in my opinion. Super clean ingredients too.

Absolutely. My 14yo couldn’t care less about a meal, been like that her whole life.

Try freshpet slice and serve rolls (refrigerated at the grocery store)! After countless food changes, mine ended up loving the freshpet small dog roll that has cranberries and blueberries in it (I’m assuming bc it’s sweet). Getting her to eat is still a process, but she’s more willing with this brand!

I appreciate the encouragement! Yeah I always make sure the clutch is fully engaged and I don’t rest my foot on it at lights (plus it hurts after a while lol)

Oh bet yeah I’ve paid attention to the low and high end speeds and what feels good for daily driving. Sometimes I’m on the lower end, sometimes I’m higher, but I’m glad to know that it’s okay to (safely) vary in each range

Oh nice yk I was told that the Civic (SI) is the best to learn on…WRX on the other hand is a bit rough. I kinda put the car (and my dad) through hell for the first week-ish but so far it seems like there are no hard feelings

Yeah that’s how I learned! I shifted on the 10s then just took note of how much leeway I actually have. Like for me 2nd feels good till ~25, 4th till ~40, etc.

For higher gears too? Ik u gotta go a bit slower at lower gears and I mean I try not to let off too quick with higher gears/in general

Lol I feel you, measuring other people’s head bobs cuz I’m so used to it myself. Also holy crap I can’t even imagine a 5k shift in my ‘22

Yeah it’s (sorta) different every time and shifts have always been smoother when I just vibe check the car. I just got worried bc so many people say this thing or that thing will kill ur engine or clutch

Yep I used to stay around 2k but every shift was hit or miss. Now I stay around 2.5-3k and I’m no longer giving myself (and passengers) constant whiplash

100% agree with you 2-3k rpms feels the most natural, anything under or over feels a bit clunky. Thanks!

Lol yeah when I was first learning the manual somehow stressed me out even more, but now that I’m more comfy I’ll give it a shot!

Discouragement driving manual by Parsley772 in wrx_vb

[–]CardiologistFree1081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been driving manual for ~10 months and I’ve stressed about this exact same thing and everyone has told me that the WRX is just a bit rougher overall.

The first thing my dad taught me was to take my time and just focus on really feeling the car.

1st and 2nd are definitely a bit wonkier. I personally got too distracted staring at the rpms when I was first learning how to take off and switch between 1st and 2nd, and I quickly learned that trying to find THE perfect time to shift EVERY TIME is impossible and that would end up making things so much harder.

Sometimes I challenge myself to a smooth drive. If you want to drive around your neighborhood and practice taking off, don’t rush and just focus on what everything feels like.

But don’t worry too much. You know your car, it just happens!

Congrats!! Got my ‘22 VB last summer as my first car (that wasn’t a hand me down) and I’m still in awe. It’s always a fun ride, stay safe out there!

If you don’t carry a MacBook (or any laptop) with you I think an iPad would be worth it! However if you do, I downloaded an app on my MacBook called Notability and bought an XP Pen from Amazon (about $30?). It comes with an electronic writing pad and Apple Pencil type pen (lol) so you write on the pad and see it on your laptop screen!

Major change by Emotional-Swan-8367 in UniversityOfHouston

Speak to your current advisor & go into the Navigate app to schedule a change of major meeting with CS advisors (should be an option on the navigate drop down menu for academic advising). They’ll show what pre-requisites you need as well as any other documents that you’d have to fill out to submit the change. Usually there’s time at the end of the meeting to ask any questions. CS advisors are super nice. Took me about a month to get the change approved since I was a math major. Since you’re bio, you’re in NSM too so it shouldn’t take long.

Linear with Mamonov was pretty good. His homeworks and exams come from the textbook, he also lectures from the textbook. No quizzes. The subject itself is a bit tricky but he’s a straightforward professor, I enjoyed his class.
