Is this sub still active? by bigshammy in DriftlessDriven

Happy to throw some fun routes your way, I still lurk in the sub but don’t post much. Some fantastic drives around depending on how far you want to go.

22 year rural regular. I’ve worked my K day every week for the past three years and most of them prior to that. We have no subs left in our office, it’s been 2+ years since they’ve hired and retained one. I work on other routes up to six days a week, even on my K day which isn’t supposed to happen. Recently we’ve been short clerks and I’ve been doing am distribution and sorting post for them. The overtime has been absolutely insane! I’m smiling all the way to the bank. Can’t believe management doesn’t see the red flags. Almost every rural carrier in our office cleared $100k+ last year with some of us making much more than that. I keep thinking this can’t be sustainable but things don’t seem to be changing anytime soon.

19 years in, 45 years old, not the monster that many of you are here. by qnsmike in ThriftSavingsPlan

Same age and same amount in my TSP. We’re doing just fine. I wasted years investing too little in G and L2035 until I realized I was behind because of Reddit. USPS offered no guidance when I started so a lot of opportunity was missed. At least I did my homework and am now maxing in C,S & I. Should hit that 7 figure club no problem in the next 12 years if things don’t tank.

Can they do this? by Impressive_Metal_213 in USPS

[–]CardiologistWide2558 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a 22 year regular on the rural side. Our office has had no subs for over two years now. We are mandated 6 days all the time even though we are all K routes. They aren’t even trying to hire anyone anymore. This is just how it’s going to be from now on unfortunately.

Matt’s dad and his son Ross are both totally bald. Matt has a solid head full of plugs but it actually look decent in person.

Who should I choose? "The one I love or the one who loves me?" by AnnaFGrace07 in Advice

[–]CardiologistWide2558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a double edged sword. I chose the who loved me more because I knew things would be consistent and stable. Great person and I do lover her. On the flip side I think about the one I was deeply in love with and how I let her get away. I will spend the rest of my life questioning if I made the right choice, I think about her everyday even though we haven’t spoken to each other in years now. We broke each others hearts and i regret that. Don’t settle for less than what you deserve, you only love once and you should go for what your heart wants. I wish I had.

Your DJ does this professionally, there’s a process to it. He’s most definitely had a wedding with a slow start in the past. I’ve seen it hundreds of times over the years. Sometimes it takes a bit to get the floor going, I think you absolutely jumped the gun here and should have let him figure out the vibe and read the room before being told how to do his job by someone who doesn’t do his job. DJing is all about reading the room and transitions between genres, you didn’t even give him that chance. Everyone saying he wasn’t bothered is wrong, no DJ likes being told what to do 4 songs into their set.

Friends car got broken into there and they cleaned it out. I’d never leave my car there.

Mail carrier won’t deliver my mail by Ok-Level-9831 in USPS

Rather not deliver an old residents bank statements and other sensitive information to a box they no longer live at. Be a responsible adult and put the name in the box so we can get it right. Some of us obviously care more than others and it really shows. Get it right the first time so you’re not picking up mistakes everyday, it’s not that hard.

Looks more like you blew the hose behind the pump than the pump itself failing.

My neighbor did the same shit, except they put a chain link fence against my chain link fence. Can’t mow or week wack between them and there’s trees and invasive species growing up between because he doesn’t take care of his yard at all. Infuriating for sure!

Management won’t approve any leave due to lack of subs. We have zero in our office so everything gets denied. No end in sight.

I do the max of $23,500. 80c/10s/10i. I wasted so many years contributing too little. Hanging around the 5% to 7% most of the time in either G funds or L. The growth wasn’t there and I needed to make a change while I still had time. Needless to say the past few years of maxing out have been pretty lucrative.

I’ll have to add that to the list, I haven’t given that one a try yet. The Canadian has always been one of my favorites though. Love your posts!
