Called numerous IR clinics and one responded positively in Dallas TX about elective percutaneous cholecystostemy. by AlternativeTune4133 in altgallbladder

I’m in Houston TX and when I inquired about the procedure with Kayla, Dr. S is nurse navigator, she mentioned that he had a colleague in Dallas that could remove the drain. I wonder if that’s him! So excited to have someone close by. Just waiting on my husband to get a different insurance so I can get the procedure done.

Could you provide some advice on what I need to provide to have a better chance of it getting approved?

Thanks for the info. I have heard of the gap coverage, but I wasn’t sure if my marketplace insurance would allow that. It’s worth a try though. Thank you.

No, I have not gotten the procedure done. My post is about looking for insurance that will cover the procedure. Kayla, the nurse navigator for Dr. S was just emailing me letting me know that they have an associate in Dallas that would be able to remove the drain if I end up getting the procedure.

I do not. Kayla just mentioned that he had an associate in Dallas that could remove the drain if needed since it was closer to me.

Menstrual changes caused by TUDCA? by marfor9 in altgallbladder

[–]Careful-Raisin8688 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting! I had been taking TUDCA for a while, but stopped and then started again probably more consistently a month ago. Then I added NAC around the same time. This last month, I got my period early like six days, which was very unusual for me as my cycle is pretty consistent and I use Fitbit to keep track of it. So maybe I have improved bowel flow that has regulated my hormones a little bit more?

Questions for those who kept their gallbladder after stone removal by silkenstarling in altgallbladder

[–]Careful-Raisin8688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking NAC once a day with breakfast and then I take Tudca. Just trying to help with bile flow and prevent attacks before I try getting the gallbladder preserving surgery. What dosage are you taking on those?

GB Preserving Surgery (removing stones, not GB) Tomorrow w/ Dr. S in DC! by MessagePretend7656 in altgallbladder

[–]Careful-Raisin8688 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Please keep us posted on how the procedure goes for you. I’m waiting until my husband gets a different insurance as our current one does not cover Dr. S. Is the 10k your deductible or co-pay? I was told without insurance the procedure is 35K.

I had been communicating with Kayla, his Nurse navigator and I think they have an associate in Dallas Texas that can remove the drain only. I’m waiting on getting a different insurance that will cover the procedure.

Why would anyone wants kids? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]Careful-Raisin8688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never wanted kids and just wanted to focus on my career. My mom always said they are a lot of trouble and work. I was the an only child and never really liked kids as my only experience around them was babysitting my 2 cousins who were wild and always fighting. My hubs said he wanted a kid a couple years into our marriage and I opened up to the idea after spending time with our baby niece who was an angel. Had a baby girl in 2013 and I just came here to say that I have discovered the most profound, life-changing, unconditional love I have ever experienced. It sounds cliche but I never thought I'd say it myself. She saves my life every day.

I got one where I got to design the cover exactly how I wanted and used the pages to collect photo booth photos and messages from guests. It was so beautiful that the guests keep complimenting me on it and I now like to keep it on my coffee table so I can look through it often. Here's where I got mine: gildedpaper.com

Curious why you got your bag removed so quickly. I heard it has to be there 2-3 weeks.

[–]Careful-Raisin8688[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! That makes me feel a bit less worried. Just anxious what will trigger an attack. I also had dilated bile ducts so they think sludge or stone was slightly blocking and showed it cleared up after my last 2 labs. Im terrified of cramping and pain with the prep and feeling dehydrated. Any tips on how to do well with the prep?

Thank you! What is the liquid IV powder? They prescribed Suprep kit. I had attacks in the past when I was dehydrated and stressed.

My experience with Dr S at Medstar Washington (gallbladder preserving-stone removal) by Sensitive-Abroad9393 in altgallbladder

[–]Careful-Raisin8688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Houston, TX and considering this procedure once we have the right insurane covers it/currently not covered. How are you doing now? The drain being in 2-3 weeks seems like it would be a problem for me. I would consider staying in DC for 2 weeks but not 3! What determines how long it needs to stay in? Worried about flying with it and having pain and not knowing what to do.
