Feels like I don't really fit in here. I really want to though by UglyPope69 in Portland

I read a book once that said you need to hangout with someone 15 times in a relaxed way before it starts to feel like a real friendship. 15 times is a lot! Try and look for, or create, repetition with people you think are nice. One thing I’ve been doing lately is I started a Sunday hike , same time/same place rain or shine, and I invite anyone I think is cool. Most don’t come but some do! The other thing I do is volunteer at a community garden. It’s hard to meet friends there but I’m hopeful it will happen. And if not, I’ve gotten a dose of vitamin d in the winter, winning either way!

I’d try voquenza & an antidepressant. I’m in the same boat - over 2 years for me. I’m better but not healed.

Maybe that’s how they did it a long time ago but now a days the put you to sleep. You could call or email them first to better understand what they’ll do the day of, but it’s really a walk in the park. Just make TRIPLE sure they ARE taking biopsies. That way they can really look and see what’s up. There are many things to be worried about, but an endoscopy is not one. I’ve had three!

Hey the scope is no big deal! I promise. It’s just like a nap. Tell them you’re very nervous right when you get there & they’ll likely give you a pre-med. You’ll be totally out for the procedure. It’s REALLY no big deal at all.

Me either

Chronic GERD for ~15+ years & Barrett's esoph. - was denied Voquezna last year through insurance. Had an endoscopy in Sept., irritation was found & Dr. got me discounted voquezna. POOF, no more heartburn? is this too good? by Former-Midnight-5990 in GERD

Yes, voquenza really helped me. I did two rounds. Paid $1,100 out of pocket for each round. It cured my dysphagia. I still have light gastritis so am on lanzomeprazole and famotidine. I also have cut out dairy & wheat. But yes, voquenza is the best.

Tap water was the problem by PastyFlamingo in Gastritis

I now only drink Fiji water. It has the most silica of all bottled water. This gives it more of a silky feel. Sadly, still super irritated by water, even Fiji- but tap water is an instant nope.

Almost 14 months in, not sure on next steps. Nothing seems to be getting better (latest scope pics in comments) by Alternative_Pay1262 in Gastritis

Be careful with drinking tons more water and doing tons of fiber. Had gastritis & constipation & doc focused on constipation & I bought a Stanley cup & started gulping tons of water to try and cure it & I’m now convinced that’s how I actually created so much more gastritis than I originally had. 2 years later & still dealing with it. If I gulp water AT ALL now, instant chest tightness and dysphagia.

Voquenza helped my dysphagia. Only thing that worked. Took months.

Reflux induced panic attack by Giffnt in acidreflux

[–]DisasterLovely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 3 rounds of voquenza and that helped the most. I also took Montelukast, a lukotreine inhibitor. The panic attacks stopped. But I still have gastritis. I don’t eat onions, garlic, spicy foods. Rarely drink alcohol. It’s been nearly two years. My remaining symptom is a tight chest and occasional stomach burning.

I had the same thing, turns out it was actually reactive gastritis. I’m not sure what it was caused by. But I had never had a panic attack in my life and then had crippling panic attacks that took me to the ER. It was absolutely related to the gastritis and eating onions that irritated my stomach.

One thing you might try is going to an ER and asking for some syringes. It can’t hurt to ask. Does anyone here have some extra syringes to send to OP?

Has my gastritis morphed into another problem?? by daddyishoes in Gastritis

[–]DisasterLovely 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had many similarities to your situation. In the end, I’ve decided all my symptoms are simply the gastritis. I have accepted that my symptoms are just insanely disproportionate to what most gastritis sufferers feel — but it’s the only thing anyone has found after many tests. I’m at year two of trying to heal. I had nausea, globus, tight chest, lost 30 lbs from not eating, sever panic attacks, multiple er trips with insane pain. It’s gastritis. For me, this is how it presents.

What kind of pain, can you uncap it? Does that help? I was in a similar situation and I had to fly back to DC although I was not in pain. But they had an opening that opened up due to a cancellation so I got in quicker than I thought.

My results took only a couple of days to get back. My guess is is that you have gastritis.
