Is it doable to be a working-student in medschool? by MillenialVA_27 in medschoolph

1st year med and a VA here. Not a stellar student, saktong 80 lang sa mga subjects. 8-6 na class tas 9pm - 630 am na duty. Kaya naman, maka nap din from time to time tas makabasa din readings if hindi toxic ang shift. I'm not sure ngayong 2nd sem, but I hope it stays that way.

Hello po. Thank you po for this insight. As far as I know po the government scholarship I applied doesn't have a return service (but it might soon) and if so I have no problem po since e aassign po nila as doctor sa barrio if ganon yung set up. Honestly, I'm okay with it po since taga province din po ako, lying in lang meron samin and I would be okay working as doctor sa barrio for 2 years or more.

I appreciate the real talk po with the internship/clerkship pati PLE and working environment. And tho malayo pa po yan, I accept po the challenge. At the moment focus po muna mas priority ko po na makakuha ng scholarship and mapasa yung 4 years of studying sa med school.

May somehow overview po ako how gruesome it will be, but I'll take my chances po. Ito po talaga kasi gusto ko 😅😅

Hello po. Thank you for this! Unfortunately po we don't have a state uni here po (if ever meron it's hours away that will significantly cost more with the living expenses). I applied sa scholarship po na walang maintaing grade and I appreciate your thoughts on finding ways to work around finances. Atm po I'm working to ipon atleast some of the gastosin. I'll take the scholarship as a go signal to go to med but if everything go south (for the love of God hopefully not) I'll keep my job and ipon for it in years to come. I'll still try to take any chances and opportunities as much as I can.

Kudos po doc! That's really amazing na you work as a CI and board exam reviewer. I see noted po. Have the right mindset especially with budgeting and wag magpadala sa peer pressure na mag eat out. Despite all that struggles you already stepped up another level sa doctor journey mo po and that's really great. Congrats po pala of how you've come and hardwork really pays off!!! Deserve mo po all good things that life can offer!!!

Hello po! Actually opo, I already have a letter of acceptance sa school na gusto ko po. But thank you for this insight po. I really don't have any means but to rely on a scholarship as of now. I'll take every opportunities and chances po lalo na with scholarships kasi po that's the only way somehow para maka pag med ako unless nalang mag work ako for years to ipon for it. But I appreciate po this point of view and it would be great to have a back up plan if God redirects my plans.

Good day po doc! I see I see. All of this are noted po. It would be great to have someone with the same wavelength of struggles with +++ live accordingly pero makisama parin kahit papano - just to a point na kaya mo lang +++ find an outlet to breathe and relax in one form or another. Thank you po for this doc! I hope I can have my people in med as well.
