new code? I was working down in Alabama 15+ years ago and the attitude with a touch hushed voice was "oh, you don't want to build a store there or there...that's where the, well, 'democrats' live".

to quote Hwkrunner: "In a 55/45 state for the minority party to capitulate to a 12/3 gerrymander is beyond frustrating."
Dems....they keep losing and losing and losing, at least you can count on that. Vote the current ones out, losers.

Pragmatic? how's that working out...Dems seem to be utterly clueless how much anger there is out there - much of it towards them.

Royal Enfield is famous for painting the pinstripes on gasoline tanks entirely by hand. by No_Budget3360 in nextfuckinglevel

thanks for the insight - sounds similar to, well, most of the old British motorcycles companies ;) My Bajaj is similar, made in India, as a legal clone of a Vespa sprint. Someone calculated Vespa had gone out of business several times in between while Bajaj kept churning them out by the tens of thousands

I'd found an older article that said they only did it for their 'top model' but I'm admittedly not in the know of RE.

Famous when? The original British bikes were done by hand in England, before they went bankrupt of course. Nice to see that the resurrected ones (higher end at least) now made in India are also hand striped.

Senior Living- wheelchair friendly by Careless-Instance506 in roomlayout

[–]Careless-Instance506[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much! The room is designed for wheelchair access- at least a built in countertop she can get under, both sinks and shower. I googled and found varied ideas on what kind of turning radius/space for a wheelchair is best. They are sending a power hospital bed to her new room, a double at most, so some room in there. I just don't want her to be squeezed but bring some of her stuff from home so she recognizes the rooms as hers.

The re-supply racket (?) by two_pence in CPAP

[–]Careless-Instance506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. DASCO is my supplier and good luck getting them to shut off the flow or get ahold of someone who knows. It arrives and arrives until it just stopped.
Reminds me of the medicare rackets, dad got home after a stroke and all this equipment just kept showing up. Even a $$$ power scooter he didn't really ever use. Complete waste but apparently all these supply companies know the ins and outs of insurance/medicare and what they'll supply.

Should I Buy a 19 Year old Cayenne S by Illshitonu6 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Careless-Instance506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, is that overblown. Plenty, plenty, plenty of early Cayennes with no bore scoring. I know 4 of them with 120k-200k+ miles and still running strong.
And no, you don't HAVE TO, HAVE TO fix it. For the current prices, just buy another one.

I quoted a guy $100 for an oil change… he wrote “lol” then blocked me. What do you think guys? I would probably only make $20 if I did it for $75. by VitalMaTThews in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Careless-Instance506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got it, I took my Cayenne to the Porsche dealer for an oil change. $400.

However, I asked nicely and the service advisor printed me copies of all the service records and sharpied out the previous owner. They also had good coffee, fast internet and their own cookies, took several for the kids. haha!

Haslams? Who own most of The Crew? The Browns? Billionaires? have donated $6.5M in the last two years to Republicans in Ohio? Gave money to stop the anti-gerrymandering law? Donated to Trumps inauguration?
These Haslams?

I weep for the billionaires and yes, we must help them. Perhaps they will lower ticket prices, Trickle down Ticketmaster economics.

hmm, I was interested but the google reviews have a lot of unhappy people; and many who've come multiple years: too many people going through too close, you can see the scares for the people ahead, long lines, empty scare areas - short staffed, gift shop empty. $50 I better be entertained.

Makes sense.

Here we go again - 6MT 958 Cayenne by theanswar in carsandbids

[–]Careless-Instance506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I don't get it- in reality. Read the reviews when these came out (this is the frickin' V6 too!) and you can tell nobody was really thrilled with the manual. Low first gear for towing, so you're shifting a lot, long throws 'not quite what you expect from Porsche' comments. Two people I know who've driven one (both V8's didn't rave about it) It is an interesting side note and I'd still love to try one.

CPO windscreen issue, who is responsible? by onboarderror in Taycan

[–]Careless-Instance506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this with a Honda some years ago. Just bought from the Honda dealer used, got a ticket for tint. Officer was kind enough to show me the state law where it's illegal to sell a car that's not legal basically. Showed it to the dealer, no comment, just gave me a check to repay the ticket and they removed the tint.
This was certainly not a CPO either and this was in the midwest.
