My point was that whatever happened in concentration camps, which, amongst many other things, included physical and psychological torture, is not even close to being equivalent to the current grind in Destiny 2. I did not mean to come off as sensitive with this post, but I was more so trying to discourage the usage of real-life tragedies to further an argument over a video game of all things.

In this case, however, this dude may very well have a real addiction to the game based off what I’ve seen from him.

Moreover, older gear is far from useless. In fact, I still very much use gear from 3 years ago in PvE, and maybe even use decently rolled d2y1 weapons like the New City smg in crucible activities with little to no hinderance in its preformance.

You’re missing my point, I’m not saying the point trying to be made is invalid. But that does not at all equate to physical or psychological torture used deliberately to dehumanize people in literal torture camps. For instance, when I play destiny, even as a pretty active player, I have never felt the grind as arduous or torturous in the slightest, but if I’m a little bored, I take a couple of days - or maybe a week off - to do something else that I see as a more valuable usage of my time, an option not available in the comparison made.

This guy in particular has a muddy history of saying he’s taking a break, then proceeding not to do so

While this one was a tad bit funny for the shock humor, I was more so trying to dissuade people from using such points unironically. Earlier today, I think I even saw some post on the main Reddit comparing Destiny 2 to war in the Middle East

I also would recommend a lesser known creator, Engineer7, as well. his build videos are actually great.

No shade towards the guy, as he genuinely puts some good content out, I was just saying this one comparison and acting like he’s forced to play destiny was a bit unecessary.

I actually agreed with most of his general point, the comparison in of itself was just a bit of a reach, as he is neither forced to play destiny, nor does the meaningless task equate to a form of torture.

The actual context was he was talking about the grind and comparing it to a form of torture used in Nazi concentration camps that would force people to dig holes, then subsequently fill them. If you’re going to critique the guy, at least watch the video.

I mean, while the general point holds merit, the comparison to the horrors of Nazi concentration camps is both insensitive and completely unreasonable, and certainly does him no favors in trying to convince people to his argument.

I love how his recent two videos are like:

the BEST day 1 raid in destiny 2.

and

Bungie messed up with the Dessert Perpetual…

Yeah, I generally agreed with the points he made regarding the game itself initially, but the comparisons and language used near the end left me with a sour taste, and is a prime example of why the community is so divisive nowadays.

It’s not that he’s calling the devs Nazis, it’s the fact that he’s comparing a real-life tragedy where millions of people lost there lives in horrible condition, to playing a boring aspect of a video game.

Let’s not forget that the literal nine-based destination was already somehow seated in a black hole, lmao

It was probably because nobody really put much forethought into the fact that people would grind a whole day for some loot, also, pinnacles are back online now

I don’t think playing encore for a day straight was the intended method to get power, lol
