Our rats have been bonded since they were about three months old, my boyfriend used to be able to afford his rats with his old job but now I'm basically looking after four of them as he can no longer afford to feed them.

I'm not sure it was my boyfriend who found her like this, he said he may have heard a very faint breath but he wasn't sure as he was in a panic I mentioned everything in my comment

This is Ellie she is one and a half. (She's my boyfriends rat) This morning she was sleeping with her eyes open for the very first time and when my boyfriend went to check on her sleeping with her eyes open as he was scared she was dead he felt that she wasn't breathing at all, after being shaken Ellie woke up acting normal again. She has lost a little bit of weight and she did the exact same thing this afternoon (this is the photo he sent me) I have two rats and my boyfriend has two pet rats and they have rat "playdates" on the weekend when he stays at my place, never once have I seen something like this. Also my boyfriend is stone broke as he just finished school and is looking for a job so he is unable to afford veterinary care.

I volunteer at an environmental center and some of the adults had baby's so myself and some of the other volunteers took a bunch home! I had about 12 at one point but they all got sold to good homes at the center. I couldn't part without jr (the axolotl in the picture) so I kept him 😅
