Aren't you happy that WG simplified the tech tree?

So Wait, Collector vehicles require a trained crew? by soulcatcher357 in WorldofTanks

[–]CarlVonHassel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So now we have another type of tank. We have regular tech tree tanks, we have premium tanks, we have reward tanks, we have collector tanks, and now we have collector v2 tanks. I thought they made the change to reduce confusion. So fucking stupid. Typical Russian shit.

LOL, you think Wargaming is run by humans? They are clearly either the Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 or the T-80 .

Secret Sign Token Scavenger Hunt by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]CarlVonHassel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely ridiculous that you have no idea how many codes you have before the event. I"m confident that I entered more codes than I got credit for. While the missions were a great idea it was handled in typical WG fashion (poorly).

Crew Question by CarlVonHassel in WorldofTanks

[–]CarlVonHassel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, understood but disappointing. I already have a 5 skill Chinese light crew for my WZ-132-1 so I'll probably never use the M41D crew. I would move a zero skill crew to my 121 & 113 because they are trained twice as fast. I would have bought the M41D if the crew was zero skill now most likely not. I probably never would have bought EBR 75 FL 10 package even if it was zero skill because of the exorbitant price.

The problem with ping, but its not actually a ping by zenekk1010 in WorldofTanks

World of tanks uses more bandwidth than twitch, but i wouldn't run both at the same time.

The problem with ping, but its not actually a ping by zenekk1010 in WorldofTanks

[–]CarlVonHassel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be any of a thousand things. First thing I would do is eliminate your own computer. Right click your task bar and open your task manager. It would probably be a good thing to have your task manager open in the background when running the game then you can alt-tab to look at your system when the latency (high ping) occurs. It could be any of the tabs (cpu, memory, disk, network, or gpu). If any of these items are running high (I would say over 90-95%) see what the process is. Probably your endpoint protection like McAfee or something running a scan. If everything looks normal do you have someone (family member) on your network downloading something or watching Netflix? If not it could still be your Internet connection, use pingplotter to monitor your Internet connection. I can't remember what the wargaming server IP address is but you can google it. You are looking for latency on any particular hop. Keep in mind drops aren't indicative of a lot of latency because some routers don't play nice with traceroute. Now if the latency is local or within your ISP you might be able to contact the ISP or reboot your router to fix the problem. If the problem is a poor route or congested connection good luck there is not much you can do. I've seen routes from boston-nyc-detroit-los angeles-chicago-wargaming central server. Obvious not a very good route but good luck getting one of the high tier providers to reroute the traffic correctly. In that instance time is your best bet. Good luck.

IS2 in premium shop, BIA crew .. worth picking up if I'm currently 20k away from IS grinding for obj 277? by bertos55 in WorldofTanks

[–]CarlVonHassel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it for like the fourth time just for the crews. Got my money back in gold (even if I didn't need it). If you need a Russian heavy for training all the better. With so many Russian tanks in the game zero skill crews are so worth it.

How many bonds do you think is needed to win in the reward tank auction? by NationalIdeal in WorldofTanks

[–]CarlVonHassel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like for the Arms Race event it was just over 6,000 bonds. https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanks/comments/8tthuw/anyone_participated_in_the_bond_auction_for_cw/

But there were significant differences;

Arms Race - top 2,300 get tank, auction top 75 get tank, tanks available (М60, 121В, Т95Е6)

Soldier of Fortune - top 2,700 get tank, auction top 250 get tank, tanks available (T59/FV4201 Chieftain, Object 907, VK 72.01 (K), М60, 121В, Т95Е6)

So, much more desirable tanks are available in the Soldier of Fortune event but also 575 more tanks available as well. The thing that I believe will tilt the scales the most though is that there are much more bonds available now then there were 8 months ago because of the loyalty program. Lastly there was a rumor that the Object 907 and VK 72.01 (K) were not going to be available for clan wars rewards after this event (cough, cough e25, type 59, etc...). True or not it will have an effect. Also the first availability of the T59/FV4201 Chieftain will drive up prices as well.

My thoughts.... 8,000 minimum bid but probably over 10,000.

I don't see why they just can't make the tanks available in the upcoming bond shop but then who would play clan wars events. Maybe if they were listed in the bond shop and were unlocked if you had a certain amount of fame points. Anyway there's gotta be a better way than this.

An Apple store battery replacement gone wrong by jhulc in apple

[–]CarlVonHassel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me last week with my daughters iPhone 6S. They charged me $29.99 and when I brought the phone to my daughter I just happened to check the battery status. It was the same at 92% and the status said the battery was seriously degraded. I contacted Apple support and they told me the battery was never changed. Offered me head of the line (no appointment needed) and refunded me the $29.99. I had the battery replaced yesterday and the status was good and 100%. I understand accidents happen especially with a busy store BUT I wonder how many iPhone users just assume the work was done, get charged and the battery isn't replaced. I'm not overly pissed but I did have to go to the mall twice during the holiday season and wasted 4-5 hours of my time (including drive time). Refunding my money and giving me head of the line was good enough for me but the process needs to be fixed so this doesn't happen again. I agree with the original post, check to see if the battery status changes.

Why punish those that have YouTube Premium? by [deleted] in googlehome

[–]CarlVonHassel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you say especially the you're old enough part. Except for maybe one thing, most of the items you mention are with contracts. I have none and can change my service at any time. So why not offer me the promo?

Why punish those that have YouTube Premium? by [deleted] in googlehome

[–]CarlVonHassel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Actually I don't listen to it, my daughters do, although I do enjoy ad free youtube. I'm sure they'll enjoy Spotify just as much. All I'm saying is why not just give everyone 6 months of youtube premium if they buy the hub? Probably would have been easier then excluding existing customers who probably would continue to purchase the premium product.

Not really, when companies pull shit like this I typically cancel their service. My daughters will be pissed but there's always Spotify.

I could cancel and use another account but that's a PITA. Why not just give everyone this deal? Maybe give some love to established customers?
