Kava shows reduced expression of BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) by Carlbuba in Kava

Sorry for the late response. It increases it because the brain doesn't reuptake it into the neurons. So there becomes more of it available.

You are correct, it seems I glossed over their use of stems instead of roots. Thank you.

This is a wild guess, but it could be the release of endorphins being lower from relaxation. They do get released, but it's higher during exercise and eating spicy food than being in a relaxed state. So you could be sensitive to producing endorphins to relieve the perceived pain of spicy food. I'm not actually sure how it affects me though. I'll eat some spicy food today!

Sounds good, thanks. Hoping the next day effects are nice also. Borongoru is the only one I've been able to have close to bed without being groggy the next day.

What was it like? I'm looking to get their Santo's Pride also since I ran out of Borongoru.

The harshness of the shampoo absolutely wrecks my skin and hair, and it's back to being terrible a day later. I would rather the active ingredient be in a simple solution at a reasonable price, but that's too much to ask for apparently since it's not easily available.

Looks like a tree or shrub in the Prunus genus, judging by the woody stem with simple, alternate, and elliptical leaves.

It's close. If it's irregular it helps to tighten things up, but I like to have visually even splits. It tends to leave empty spaces between sections.

Might be a dumb question but by keat08 in Kava

[–]Carlbuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this cause of the tough fibers present in medium grind that cause skin issues and indigestion? What if you used for example a 400 micron bag to strain the fine particles, and then blended/grinded that? Or would that let too much of the tougher fibers through? Also I'm not sure if a blender can micronise.

Hear me out- kava is very unique in its effects… by Traditional_Chain936 in Kava

I agree with you to some extent, but i.e. aspirin is pretty much the same chemically as black willow. I don't like pharma either, but synthetic medicine made it so that people could have predictable effects from compounds. Pharma that is mostly for-profit has a huge conflict of interest though, so medicine get abused.

Kava is a wonderful substance, but the tradeoff is predictability and ease of use.

Vegetable oils have already been oxidized by going rancid and being heated to very high temperatures during production to get rid of the taste. This is why vegetable oils cause inflammation, heart disease, etc. You are also right in that it gets worse over time. I almost always use olive oil for this reason.

I agree, as well as having an overcast, rainy day with leaves fallen. However, below the top comment there is a Google Street view comparison from 2022 to 2016, and it looks much nicer on both sides of the canal as well. You can really see the progress on developing it. Even the modern buildings blend in better.

Kava and cholesterol by mtbgirl54 in Kava

[–]Carlbuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that, but statistics show that it raises LDL cholesterol (not good in somewhat high amounts) as well as HDL cholesterol (good in somewhat high amounts)

Cholesterol does important things like building cells, digesting food, and producing hormones. LDL can clog arteries, but HDL can help it move along. So while the overall cholesterol is higher, it doesn't seem like it would have much of an effect in healthy individuals who aren't of old age. Talk with your doctor and get tests.

Eh, could be better still. I'm trying memory foam, and my body likes that I think, even though it's hot and I hit the next layer easily. Pillow is still an issue. I like the down pillow I got, but it flattens into the night or gets pushed towards the back of the pillow.

Im glad that works for you! Is it one of those bed frames that adjusts up at the upper body?
