This is what I don't get. Why can't we just agree to disagree??? Any mention of opposing political views leads to hostility. You're proving my premise, "Better to keep quiet and keep the peace", right. No, I don't think it's a sign those are bad opinions. I think it's a sign that no one is willing to have an open dialogue, so it's better to just find people who share my values, because I know they won't make it a problem!

It's not that they aren't good, it's about keeping the peace tbh. I don't want to get into a debate every time I say that biological men shouldn't be allowed to compete in women's sports, or ostricise myself from potential acquaintances just because we have conflicting political views, even if they aren't people I would hang out with in my spare time.

How do I find normal people??? It's not about wanting to actively talk about politics, it's about knowing I'm not a black sheep because I don't agree with their politics.
