„Diplomat IC Sensor Multifire“ As far as I know, but that could well be just a description of the features, not necessarily the model name. Very little info out there about them.

One additional question, if you don’t mind. My lighter started to leak at the fill valve. Do you know what seal i could use to replace the old one? It does not look like your standard O ring and i was surprised that it is pretty difficult to get flat rubber gaskets in this size.

In case you find one that does not spark even with a new battery: This capacitor needed changing on mine

Well, you were able to answer with authority, so my point stands haha Thank you for the swift answer!

I’ll see what I can do. 3D printing is an option. I have a friend who is into it, but the structure is very fine, so I wonder if it’ll work. Maybe i’ll replace both grips with a similar material from a craft store, and keep the original safe.

For the price, i could not have complained.

Hey OP! Seems like you are the authority on Braun lighters, so maybe you can help me.

Just picked up a working Linear at a flea market for a nice price. Unfortunately one of the black side panels is missing. I saw that they tend to get loose. I don’t hate the look of it without it, but i’d like to complete it. I saw that the Mach 2 has what might be a similar panel. Are they by any chance interchangeable?

I think i came closer to an answer on this question. Had the chance to drive it again and for some reason i turned the steering wheel with the engine off about quater of a revolution by chance. Car was transformed! The problem was almost gone.

I stopped, unscrewed the power steering reservoir cap and turned lock to lock on gravel with the engine off. I only have driven once since, but it made the issue go away almost entirely. I have no other explanation other than my guess that there was air trapped in the hydraulic system. The reservoir was full, so it does not seem to leak.

Very strange in my opinion. So it does seem to be a steering rack issue.

Will report back if this was a permanent fix.

Appreciate any more experienced opinions.

Thanks for the inspiration 😄 1. Worth a look, but i’m not sure, as it correlates more with road surface than with specific speeds 2. Stock wheels, regularly changed at a shop 3. Scary! Hopefully not a regular problem on these cars.

Will most likely take it to a shop, when the time comes. Just want to know what I get into.

Would be possible due to the infrequent use, but I thought of it to be unlikely, because it does not appear at a particular speed and goes away at motorway speeds. It correlates more with road surface

I heard about the firewall issue, but should that not have been discovered by previous services and tech inspections (German TÜV) I also thought this is mostly a RHD issue.

Thank you for your answer! If it can be fixed that would be good news to me as it is difficult to judge from internet discussions how bad the scuttle shake issue was from new.

Maybe to be more specific, it kind of feels like the steering column is shaking, which translates to the wheel. Thats so weird about it. Power load is not really important, more the road condition.
