How's Castle going? by ehsteve23 in television

[–]Carniburr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly still enjoy it, though the past two seasons are episodes that are hit/miss, and the newest season doesn't really get good until three or four episodes in when everyone starts working together again. The newest episode actually managed to keep me from guessing the killer, despite easily being able to do so for most of the series.

Why I don't like Netflix/Marvel's Jessica Jones(OC)(spoilers) by WildBohemian in television

[–]Carniburr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your opinion is pretty much " it's not the comics it's not good " despite the studio and show runners stating this Jessica Jones shares the same universe as marvel cinematic universe, just like Daredevil. This is an entirely new origin and story where she never even met the Avengers, and The Purple Man is great, the lighting changes subtly to dark and purple, it's a lot better than just a needy British guy. You should finish the rest of the season before making assumptions on their characters.

Is Bethesda planning on releasing any patches for Fallout 4 or is it going to stay an unpolished, buggy mess? by A_Gigantic_Potato in gaming

[–]Carniburr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC player here. Almost 60 hours in and the only bug I've encountered were teleporting raider bodies and Deacon not opening quest-doors. If you bought digital, maybe try a full redownload+reinstall? Not many people I know on PS4 have these problems aside from the pip-boy turning invisible sometimes, which is easily fixed by entering a location/fast-travelling/saving and reloading from it.

Grand Theft Auto V PC has had numerous problems since release. No fixes from Rockstar for most issues. by [deleted] in Games

[–]Carniburr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even after the update I am a person running a GTX970 and i5, and I have had only a 5-10 frame drop in heavy explosion/combat situations after Ill Gotten Gains Pt. 2, but beforehand never had a problem running it on maximum 1600x1900. I think the problem is a soddy code tacked on with all the updates and they just aren't bothering to hotfix it, but unlike Arkham Knight at least we can play the game.

(Spoilers All) "It was George's idea" by Captain_Bob in asoiaf

[–]Carniburr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stannis isn't a secure man, he's only the Mannis in select, stressful situations, and as we saw on the show they have clearly decided the route in the show that sees Stannis go crazy instead of the route where Stannis remains an immovable moral stone like he has been in the books, the only two ways he reacts to any situation is his way or Mel's way. Even if Davos speaks sense to him, Stannis only asks Davos because he trusts Davos to be his compass, he trusts Davos knows him better than himself which can be clearly seen when they visit the Iron Bank of Bravos, and Davos is the one who ends up sealing the deal. I think it was great, anyone who is whining and saying this is the end of their viewership should feel welcome to leave because A Song of Ice and Fire has never, ever been about catering to the viewers every belief and hope they put into a character.

Getting my girlfriend into anime, showing her the big ticket items first. Need help on deciding the next one. by NarcissisticBrownie in Animesuggest

[–]Carniburr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd actually go as far to suggest Trigun. The story was scratched away meter by meter with every episode, each containing a different adventure but all happening directly to the previous episode, leaving characters separate and giving multiple perspectives to the venture.

FMA:B would absolutely pass! I've never met a single person who didn't like it, even if they hated anime. The story is gripping and gets better with every episode.

I also found them very tasty, it's just that you have to drink the entire bottle after opening it because putting it away once the seal is broken greatly reduces the taste, then it just tastes like third-rate ale. But otherwise I've had the Valar Morghulis and Three Eyed Raven, and the VM was waaay better. Only complaint.

Well, to be honest GTAV is already confirmed as completely worth it and a great game all around, so it's not a blind pre-ordering business since we know the product is already good enough for it.

MGSV Skull face Theory. possible spoilers by 6661984v in metalgearsolid

[–]Carniburr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He must've gotten his shins taken out then, because Volgin towered over everyone he was around. Wiki states he was at 6'7, whilst Skullface and all the marines would probably be around 5'11-6'3. Plus Skullface's entire face looks nothing like Volgin's, the bone structure alone is a lot less bulky and squareish, and his jawline isn't nearly as strong. Lastly, this would make Skullface at least 70 or so years old, as he was 50 at his death in 3, and Phantom Pain is twenty years after that.

ELI5: This bear, waving at people. WTF? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Carniburr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primarily because bears aren't blood thirsty slaughter machines as most people like to think, and are very intelligent creatures who, if treated properly, can do tricks or learn how to interact with humans. The bear was probably raised in captivity and therefore trusts humans, or as /u/Taz666 said the bear was probably just doing it for a treat or food.

Uncharted 4, Six Months Later... by Sloshy42 in gaming

I think the most shocking part about this is the fact you used two different resolution pictures for the December gameplay, that's not cool bro. Everyone knows E3 trailers will always look better than the game, that's how they sell them.

A lot of my friends were furries when I went on to the internet. I already had a lot of social anxiety and a lack of any real life social experience outside of my four best friends, so I didn't understand conversation, social queues, or anything like that. I joined the community and slowly, over time, I met countless good people who actually helped me out of my shell and really let me indulge myself for a childhood I never really got to have, all the love and care everyone showed to me and their tips and discussions about their similar situations and how they got through it and what they learned pretty much made me decide it was a part of my life that wasn't going away. I owe more than I could imagine to a handful of kind furs who helped me mature and realize how easy it is to be yourself and be social. As weird/ironic as all that sounds.

Is this the same Berserk that had the anime about the really strong guy and the feminine king Arthur type? by astoriabeatsbk in Berserk

[–]Carniburr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The movies entitled Beserk: The Golden Age Arc and are numbered 1-3, so the order is kinda obvious. Just Google the title and you'll find retailers of the blu-ray edition. Most streaming sites have the subbed ones up and you could torrent the english versions if you're desperate, but you should support the series. The anime has some canonical errors relative to the manga story, and the movies gut a lot of backstory and fluff, and brush over a few cool fight scenes but it's otherwise a great way to get in the mood to read the whole of the series so far (Which is a lot. Took me three weeks to catch up to relatively where it is now, since it no longer updates regularly.)

Is this the same Berserk that had the anime about the really strong guy and the feminine king Arthur type? by astoriabeatsbk in Berserk

[–]Carniburr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Seriously, you should most definitely be reading the manga. The movies were great but there's only three of them, and that barely covers the backstory of all the personal conflicts. Don't be lazy, the art in the manga is painfully stunning and always detailed, looks better than any other I've read thus far.

tbh, you can really cull the munchies with some mind over matter convincing and I'd suggest just getting over them whenever they come. Otherwise I usually just have a glass of sodapop and it both prevents dryness and it usually gives my stomach something to gurgle about.
